Board Games

Recommended Posts

I'm sure there was a thread before but can't find it. Anyone play board games/tabletop games?

Looking at getting zombicide and have seen a special edition monty python one due out next week.

Bored games are how they are looked at by most of the younger generation. I do see the convenience of moving these type of games to electronic means though. It can save the loss of game pieces and the messing around setting them up. I loved traditional Scrabble on my phone but they turned it into some teenage nonsense choc full of adverts.

I've managed to get my son interested in board games. We've had some epic games of Pandemic, X-Wing and Memoir 44. The little git has the luck of the devil. If he needs four crits/tanks, he'll roll four crits/tanks. Unfortunately I can't get my wife hooked. She has always enjoyed any games we've played with her - I got Wingspan with her specifically in mind - but she would rather be doing something else with her time.

X Wing is a great game. Star Wars: Imperial Assault is a fun little game that you can use an app to control the opposition.

My brother and I got a few through Kickstarter a while ago. Batman: Gotham City Chronicles is a huge game. It's brilliant. So are Hellboy, Big Trouble in Little China and Conan the Barbarian. I got Senjutsu: Battle for Japan before Christmas but haven't had a chance to play yet.

I bought Superclub for my lad for christmas.

Its absolutely brilliant and we often play on a saturday afternoon. It encompasses full off seasons of deadline days; training; scouting etc with Full on drafts for teams Stadium upgrades etc.

Also has a bit of luck with dice rolls etc too which puts a different spin on the tactical side as there is always a bit of luck involved too. Can buy add on packs for the game too but would highly recommend.
