Pretty sure if he gets a yellow next game he’ll miss the final.

  • In accordance with Article 52.04 of the official competition regulations, all yellow cards expired on the completion of the quarter-finals. This means no player can miss the final by virtue of picking up three cautions which did not result in a red card.

  •  A yellow in both semi-final legs will not rule them out of a place in the squad for Paris, as the cumulative three cannot be reached. That means Virgil van Dijk can relax a little despite picking up a booking in the first half against Villarreal in the first leg.

(I wouldn't pretend to have known this before looking it up!)

Not for me it ain't. Let them do what they like in a studio, but leave the bias out of commentaries. Who wants it? If they could get, say, Dennis Wise or John Terry to commentate on Chelski games, would neutrals be able to stand it? And if you got players who strained to avoid sounding biased, would their fans like it? What IS the appeal of using them??? Use co-commentators who aren't associated closely with either team and just, you know, say what you see. There's no reason for using these characters at all.

Well, Neville is more intelligent than Wise and Terry. Not everything he says is mindless and embarrassing...

Bias I can live with. Absolute stupidity, not so much.

I'd say "satisfied" describes it pretty accurately.

If they'd've been dissatisfied at going home down 2, presumably they'd've tried to do something about it.

So they aimed to concede two. Job done. Yes, I see.

Obviously I don't think he's decent.

Even though I loved him in his prime for us...

You don't think Steve McMnaman was decent for us? Or you don't think he's decent?

If the answer is no in any you're wrong.

A decent human being. Hence my use of the term "cunt".

Granted, I don't know him personally at all. He may be a lovely guy. But he doesn't come across that way to me.

One way or another, excellent player though he was, he's a dreadful commentator. He offers no insight whatsoever. Talks a lot while saying nothing. Always.

Can't be arsed carrying on the conversation mate. x

Mate of mine from Middlesbrough was in Liverpool last night for a trade show.

He messaged me after the game to say how awesome he thinks we are.

He's not an out-and-out football follower, so his opinion is a bit of a layman's one... but his description of us as being "like the Harlem Globetrotters" was pretty cool I thought.
