Can honestly see him being a better full back than a centre half now.

 

He is absolutely vital to us right now - his versatility in the midst of an injury crisis at the back is holding the defence together - needs to stay fit for forseeable future...we are fucked if he does not.

He's grown into this season. They key now is keep him fit. We are absolutely fucked if he gets one of his big injuries.

Perfect squad player isn’t he, provided he can stay fit that is.

 

Approaching 200 matches for us and still hasnt scored a goal. Have a feeling he may score one if he get a little run of games at LB over the next weeks, he came close against Arsenal and hopefully will be encouraged by that.

Yep. Given the seriousness of his injuries, he can take a bit to get up to full speed, he’s playing well currently.

He's been getting close lately, I'm pretty sure he's been given the go ahead to let himself have a crack at goal

He's been unlucky. It's not as if he's having terrible attempts, one will go in eventually if he keeps having a go.

 

I'm hoping it's soon as little moments like that can be great for morale.

Odds will have shortened for certain

 

It is quite something he has never scored though - you'd just think even when playing centre half he'd get on end of a corner...

For a lot of his career he's been the defender who stays back for corners.

Oh yeah course - but still just think he'd have been up for some and scored one at some time.

 

Gonna be some thing when he eventually does....hope it is at home and is a big goal too!

I like Gomez as a character and a player when he's confident, but he's always been an accident waiting to happen unfortunately. I hope he has a good spell in the team though obviously
