Voronins debut wasn't it?

Not sure,

We went over up. Then they got a penalty fairly late. Then Gerrard went down very easily and put the resulting free kick into the top corner.

My villa supporting mate wouldn't talk to us for hours after it.

Ill remember the game for that goal, and the immense pain I had from only having route canal the day before I flew over to Birmingham.

I remember that game as well. There was an incident early on where Gerrard gave the ball to Torres and he did some skill a pulled a shot off and the keeper tipped it over. The camera zoomed in on Gerrard’s face and you could tell he was thinking we are in fucking business here. He pointed at Torres and said “fucking brilliant Nando.” What a time to be alive.

Gerrard was an absolutely immense player. We have been fortunate to have many world class players in my lifetime.

Many have the ability of the mentality, he had both.

I just feel sorry for him that in many of the squads he was in, he was surrounded by so much shite and had to drag the team on his shoulders at times.

Imagine how good he would have been in one of our legendary teams or even with more than one player ( Torres ) on his wavelength at a time?

Gerrard, Alonso, Masch, Torres and Carra all had the ability and balls to back it up. The rest were great on their day ( kuyt, maxi, Agger, when fit )
