Rest in Power Fidel Castro

Look what happens in the UK when one party leader makes the slightest deviation from the ruling class consensus.

I don't think we can afford to be smug about the failings of other democracies.

There is a difference between smug and a bare minimum. In any country I'd ask myself 3 questions, am I free to come and go, can I vote to throw out the government and does the guy in power walk around in military uniform. If the answer is no-no-yes, chances are, I don't live in a democracy.

Nationalizing the companies run by the multinationals who had been systematically looting Cuba and paying compensation based on their previous tax returns was a masterstroke but caused the anti Castro backlash by the USA.

Imagine if May nationalized Apple UK and paid compensation based on their UK tax returns.

Vale, Jefe.

I love Cuba. The people who I met were all so nice and welcoming.

Would be nice to see the general standard of living raised somehow without surrendering to the multinationals.

Only thing I regret is not visiting the hospital after getting thrown off a horse and injuring my ribs. The standard of healthcare is supposed to be very high.

Instead I suffered through until I got home. Would have been nice to at least have some painkillers for the flight home.
