You should be able to use a HDMI cable.

Most modern TV's don't have the old VGA cables but you may that if your current PC doesn't have a HDMI port then you may will want to buy a VGA to HDMI cable like these here, they only cost a few quid.

Amazon.co.uk: hdmi/vga cable

Just double check you are buying the correct male / female interface to fit you PC. Think you will need male VGA to fit you PC female VGA port.

You will find that if your PC is quite new then it will not have a vga port it will have a DVI port it may even have both. If you can use a DVI cable then go for a dvi to hdmi cable. It will give better picture quality and it will also mean you wont need a separate audio cable which will be needed if you use a vga port.

It's nearly ten years old I think

If there it is about 10 years old it may not have a dvi port on it.

If this is the case or if you fancy it why don't you upgrade the video card. It will allow you to just use a hdmi cable and if anyone plays games it will also give your graphics a boost as well.

Video cards start at about £35 for a basic one. This will allow you to use hdmi.

If your pc currently doesn't have either dvi or hdmi then I would suggest you upgrade the card as you will need a very long audio cable that will fit into a sound port on the back of the pc. These cables are the ones with the green plastic ands that are exactly like headphone ports.
