Broad could play in the next WC, Anderson won't

There was an article on the beeb the other day and Broad was saying he could play at the next WC and wanted to get back in the side but the ECB had decided he and Anderson wouldn't play ODI's this summer as they needed to rest ahead of the ashes.

So since the death of Phil Hughes, Cricket Australia have apparently made the rules surrounding concussions a lot more strict, which has seen Chris Rogers ruled out of both Tests against the West Indies after being hit on the helmet by a net bowler. Incredible to think that if Shaun Marsh makes a decent score as an opener in the 2nd Test, there could be question marks over Rogers leading into the Ashes, given his solid performances against England to date. Further to that it is going to be his last series before retiring, so it will be interesting to see what happens from here.

Those enhanced regulations on concussion would have really helped Phil Hughes hey!

Better understanding and treatment of concussion can only be a good thing but as you say it's a bit crass to introduce them as a result of Hughes death, it's like implying the poor lad got a bit of a headache from a bouncer.

I just think there is always a knee jerk reaction to freak accidents, often introducing over the top and unnecessary precautions, and often unrelated to the initial event.

Well the Windies won the toss and decided to bowl first. Aussies 20/2 off 9 overs. Some opening spell from Taylor. 5 overs for 0 runs and 2 wickets!!

Aussies fought back to 91/2 at Lunch. Taylor only bowled one more over just before lunch after his opening spell of 5 and it also went for a maiden. I bet you'd be hard pressed to find a bowler who has bowled 6 consecutive maidens in Test cricket. Pity the other bowlers couldn't back him up.

Weird innings. Taylor has bowled 15 overs and only gone for 18 runs whilst taking 3 wickets, pity the rest of the bowlers are chucking pies.
