Personally, and it's just my opinion, but I love Lee Cattermole. I think he's exactly the kind of combative, energetic, takes no shit, player that this team needs. We need hard, downright dirty bastards and less of the shitting out of tackles, confrontation avoiding fairies this squad is littered with. And he can pass the ball well too. Championship teams have fearless players, who are enforcers on the pitch, and he is one of them.

Have Kenny mentor him, and he learns how to be that player without getting the red cards, the guy the other teams' fans hate.

And now I shall duck for cover to avoid the barrage of negs.

Im not sure if its already been mentioned but we have now been linked with Sebastian Larsson.

Great! 32m should just about prize him away from the clutches of Birmingham.

Released by Birmingham last week mate.

We'll probably give him a £300k a week deal which covers his signing on fee

Worth every penny. Him, Cattermole, Barton, Downing, Dann... the league is ours within two years. The championship.

I don't have a problem with targetting Wickham, Jones or Henderson. It's what Comolli did at Spurts, identify young British talent, pay a fair amount for them a year or two before they are fully developed and would double in price or more. If two out of Wickham, Jones & Henderson come off then we'll be laughing in a couple of years time. They're good enough for the squad now and to challenge for the first team, but hopefully will be among the best in the league in a couple of years.

Now in a super perfect world we would also get a couple of top quality players (winger for sure) and we just might. Let's wait and see.

If its on the basis you describe then that would be brilliant if they were to be our major signings for the first team that would leve a lot of people quite cold.

None of us know what the hell is going on so its best to see who we sign which I believe will start to happen after Monday week in 13 June.

Spot on. We're going to have to be really clever in the transfer market. The last thing we want is to alert the other top clubs as to our real targets. It's the way it used to be, and as far as I'm concerned, it's the way it should be.

Liverpool FC yet to bid for Sunderland pair Jordan Henderson and Lee Cattermole - News - Liverpool FC - Liverpool Echo

And Back to reality,

Its why you shouldnt freak out until we have actually bought someone

It's strange that people think others are 'freaking out' or 'throwing tantrums' because they've given an opinion on a player we've been linked with.

''Van Wolfswinkel joins Sporting''

''The 22-year-old was linked with Liverpool and Newcastle last summer, but he has signed a five-year contract with Sporting.''

Thoughts?

For £5m-ish, which seems about right. Funny how Utrecht wanted double that from us.

It's strange that you think that your tone/reaction to these suggestions is something other than "freaking out". Hate to see your reaction if we were linked to someone who really WAS shit.

It's not really all that strange seeing as I know exactly how I feel about it. If you wouldn't mind showing me where I've 'freaked out', that would be great (This is where you say 'if you think I'm trawling through your posts...' because you can't find anything), cheers.

Not much of a challenge, to be fair. Your last post was:

"Worth every penny. Him, Cattermole, Barton, Downing, Dann... the league is ours within two years. The championship."

As I say, if that's not freaking out then I'd hate to see your reaction if we were linked to some genuinely shit players.

Ah, I see what you've done there. In your haste you've read a joke, taken it out of context of the other jokes (paying him 300k a week and paying £32m for a player without a contract and is available on a free) and pretended that it is something serious. Good one. That's conclusive proof that I am indeed freaking out.

If it is Dalgish behind these suposed signings its very much a shit or bust approach.

If you buy quality and it doesnt work out you normally get most of your money back but if you pay something like 15m for Henderson and he is a flop you will be lucky to get half your money back.

However if these players suddenly become world beaters then Dalglish is a Heroe however I bet Comolli will get the praise.

Not a chance. If anything it will be the other way around. Great signings will be because of Kenny. Players that turn out to be shite will be because of Comolli. And to be honest, that's fine. The simple fact is every single maanger fucks up in the market, even with the big money. Kenny singed some awful shite in his first spell here. Current title winning managers make terrible mistakes also. It happens. But Comolli will get the blame if we drop a clanger.

Yes, the perfect understudy for Andy. Will get a lot of playing time.

Cross between Shearer and Nando.

And someone else has said there is a touch of the Van Basten about him too! We should be bidding £40m for Wickham now before Barca or Real move for this genius!

I always remember when I still had my season ticket watching us versus Sunderland in the 09-10 season visibly squinting to read the name on the back of this Sunderland player in midfield. I wanted to know who this lad was because he was so shit. He was off the pace, slow, walking round the pitch, he didn't even look arsed.

That was Jordan Henderson.

Has he improved since then? Quite possibly. Still every time I've saw him I have not been impressed.

The main thing he seems to have going for him is he looks the part, ie. he's 6ft, English and he probably wears white boots and those shit sleeved nike tops all the players seem to wear under their kit.

I'd rather have Barton/Adam/ even fucking Cattermole.
