To be honest, that was fairly fucking limp. Knocked down a peg from the highs of the last few weeks, as we just couldn't make anything happen. Slow to move the ball, stray passing. Obviously we're not the finished article and were going to land with a bit of a bump after seven hours without conceding, but we surrendered two points far too easily there.

well, we've played a second string team today - no agger, no stevie, and when we lost raul, it was all the firepower empty - although suarez showed some nice touches and an accurate shooting foot.

has pepe gone public about leaving cos nobody looked like they could be bothered for most of the game, and I'm wondering if there's been some shit behind the scenes. we obviously don't play well on saturdays.

 

positives:- suarez is immense , he's gonna be massive for us. and we're still undefeated.

 

What the fuck are you on? Our team today was nowhere near second string. Your point about not looking interested? Fuck that.

Argh, a deserved point for Wigan. Agger makes a huge difference to our play from the back, we obviously missed Stevie as well.. We looked unbalanced without him. Lucas left alone in midfield far too often, and he didn't deal with it too well.

 

Deserved in terms of their general play. My stream fucked up so I didn't actually see their goal from a decent angle.

We must have some better youngster then fucking Jovanovic. Offers fuck all and is a waste of a sub. Same goes for Maxi another shit game to add to the collection.

Wigan deserved their point. Shame we had to wait until the last ten minutes to show any sense of urgency.

 

Difficult to see why Jovanovic hasn't been playing much. Got a fucking world beater on our hands there.

 

Not convinced with the tactical change and substitution around 55 minutes. Pacheco should have featured at some point. We were crying out for someone other than Suarez to show some confidence on the ball in the final third.

 

Missed Agger, a lot. Carragher was excellent defensively, but when he's alongside Skrtel we're so alehouse in our distribution from the back.

Reality is, the squad is crap. It's not good enough to challenge for anything and until we start getting the right players it's going to stay that way.

 

People were way too arrogant about this.

Days like today only show that the rebuilding has a long, long way to go - we need to refit a lot of the midfield (esp out on the two flanks, and we definitely need a protector and enforcer in there), and at least two new defenders (LB and a commanding CB). I'm sure Kenny is finding out a lot about some of the fringe players, and games like this are rather more reliable as a guide than matches such as last week's.

Why do people bother to make these kind of 'authoritative' assertions? It was hugely unlikely before the game and it's hugely unlikely after, but it didn't all hinge on two extra points. Put the crystal balls away.

Got to love Carra in terms of his defending but he has to learn that he has some responsibility towards us keeping possession some times. Not expecting anything amazing, just for him to play it fucking simple.

Jovanovic was a bad choice. Pachecho needs to get game time, just pointless keeping him on the bench in games we need someone to spark us into life.

Rubbish performance. Hopefully Kenny realises that eventually he will have to bin the likes of Kuyt, Maxi, Jovonovic, etc. if we are to challenge for the title or the CL places once more. Missed Stevie and Agger, and Carroll can't get fit soon enough.
