  1. Would be David Villa for me. Clearly I am talking outside of the completely unrealistic Messi, Ronaldo, etc. Villa to me is still unlikely but not out of the question. Not playing regularly for Barca, best mates with Reina, 31 in December so transfer fee shouldn't be ridiculous. Everything about it would be ideal for me. Experienced winner to help develop young players, goalscorer to relieve burden on Luis (who despite all criticism is on track for 20 league goals this season), can also play left side so capable of switching places with Suarez. Two questions I guess. Would he join? May think he can force his way back in at Barca and if not, may still be looking for Champions League club. Would FSG stump up money for 31 year old. Goes against their principles even if he would make a massive difference over the next 2-3 years. Please Brendan-make it happen

    Abuse

Not talking about players I like. There's been a lot of players down the years that I've not been that keen on but can see that they give their best and I wouldn't start calling them a cunt. Not sure if you really believe that Reina hasn't given it everything or you're just trying to justify yourself. Bearing in mind the point of the thread, I'm not looking to start an argument here. Just don't understand the mindset.

    Abuse

Classy. To answer your point, I haven't got a problem with people having a go at players who don't give 100% for the club. I wouldn't have been happy though if you'd abused Henderson as I think the lad gives it a go even if he's not shown quality yet.

    Abuse

Just seen someone on here called BringBackBiscan call Reina a "fat arsed cunt." This is our best keeper since Clemence no matter what you think of his form this season. I've also seen Kenny getting personal abuse on here. This is arguably the greatest legend in our club's history. What the fuck is wrong with some people on here? No problem with anyone questioning the manager or players but never ceases to amaze me the lack of fucking respect people show to people who have given their best for the club. Embarrassing.
  5. Anyone seen much of him? Scored four today and seems to be prolific. Morgan apart we seem to be light on young strikers. Worth a look?

Thanks all - sounds class. Seedy bars? On a stag do? With my reputation?
  7. May be going there for my stag do. Anyone been? Got any suggestions of good bars, etc?

    Carra

Don't worry, this isn't a "He's past it thread". The guy is still the best defender we have. However he's got to remember that defending isn't his only responsibility. He's also partly responsible for us keeping hold of the ball and he failed massively in the part of the game today. Far too many hopeful balls. If there is no option ahead of you, then go back to the keeper and start again. I know he's never going to be Beckenbauer but he just needs to make sure he doesn't cost us possession too much in these games.
  9. Got to love Carra in terms of his defending but he has to learn that he has some responsibility towards us keeping possession some times. Not expecting anything amazing, just for him to play it fucking simple.
  10. Yeah would appreciate it if anyone could send me a link
  11. Another goal for Adam Hammill today. Keep hearing people saying that if he was good enough, he wouldn't be in the Championship. Don't think he will be for long and think if we had given him a chance, he may have done a good job.
  12. Agreed but there is nothing wrong with that. I would ba happy with Jay playing 15-20 games a season. Whilst we have produced world class players like Gerrard, Fowler, McManaman, Carragher (I know some will dispute Carra as world class but for a while he was one of the world's best centre halves), there is nothing wrong with the academy also producing squad players. The joke of it is that the purpose behind the academy is that it saves the club money by producing our own players but we then still spend money filling our squad up with the likes of Poulsen, Degen, El Zhar when we could have used academy players like Spearing, Kelly, Hammill..
  13. That's two games in which these two have played against Napoli now. Two games which have proven that the purchase of Poulsen was a complete waste of money. Spearing is a better passer, a better tackler, and most importantly more mobile. He is also a better character, demanding the ball and talking others through the game. Spearing is far from a great player, but he has the potential to be a decent player for us. Poulsen offers absolutely nothing. There is nothing that frustrates me more than signing average players which stop the potential talents breaking through from our youth team. Just like El Zhar being preferred to Hammill who is showing some real class right now.
  14. I know we're still to play United but that match is filling me with dread. This is what I would play against Northampton: Jones Darby Kelly Wilson Aurelio (if fit) Lucas Speo Amoo Shelvey Pacheco Ngog Subs: Hansen, Wisdom, Flanagan, Irwin, Suso, Eccleston, Ngoo. I know that's a side very light on experience but would argue that probably only Amoo hasn't got a decent amount of experience playing at a higher level than Northampton. Aurelio needs a game if fit. Would pay to go watch that but £20 is still a bit of a joke. Should be a tenner.
  15. That should be the one (would be happy with Agger over Skrtel but not arsed either way). Need as many players as possible who are able to keep hold of the ball and the above has got that.

    Babel

Happy to see this guy sold if we can get some decent money for him as he's never looked like the player we hoped. Remember him coming on for half an hour at Stamford Brdieg though when Xabi's deflected goal ended their home unbeaten run and he looked really dangerous as the lone striker. Quick and held the ball up well. Just wonder if he does stay whether Hodgson will see him as the alternative to Torres as the lpone man up front. Doesn't instil me with great confidence but think he is more suited to the lone man role than Dirk or Ngog and maybe a fresh start under a new regime could bring the best out of him? Clutching at straws
  17. Just wondering what people's opinions are. Not seen enough of him to know what he is like. Seemed pretty decent when we played Wolves at Molineux last year though. Versatile and would be good for homegrown quota rule. If anyone has seen more of him and he's shit then fine. Sky Sports | Football | News | Mancienne seeks stability
  18. Exactly. Situation with Luca is simple. Decent squad player who gives everything so you can't knock him. Just not good enough to be first choice.
  19. Yep. And everyone kept telling Rafa that only the Premier League was important
  20. Sure he'll be gutted at comments from you whilst clutching his Manager of the Year trophy. No big fan of Redknapp's but he's clearly a very good manager. Grow up
  21. Thanks for that mate - will try again. My mate who got us the tickets asked at the ticket office last night and they said that because the game is going ahead, normal rules apply. Maybe there's been a change of heart since. I know what people mean when they say that this is UEFA's fault which it is. Still the club could do the right thing and refund match tickets for people who can't afford to do the journey they are doing. Put it this way, sadly Everton would probably help their fans out in this situation.
  22. Had flights booked with Ryanair but they've been cancelled. Typically of the club's "Couldn't give a shit about the fans" attitude, because the game is on I can't get a refund. Got me wondering how many can actually get across and whether any pressure can be put on the club for refunds??
  23. Thanks mate - I was too late, Shamlessly bumping. Anyone else?
  24. Going over to Madrid for the match next week. Anyone know of any tickets that may be going spare? I know there's a few people who buy tickets to get the away credits but don't go. Might not be as likely for a semi final in Madrid I know! Any help much appreciated.
