Have you ever been certain on winning a football match?

I don't think I've ever been so convinced at any time following Liverpool that we would win a football game.

We're going to be right up for this one and we're going to play them off the park.

Anyone else remember when they felt so certain of a victory...and what was the outcome?

2005 CL semi final.

Basically most massive European games when we had Rafa.

This one.

Just had complete faith in the manager to find a way to win.

Similarly to now, in all fairness.

This happened after 2005. I was sure of winning a lot of games in Europe under Rafa.

Real Madrid at Anfield comes to my mind. Also in 2008-09 season at home to Newcastle felt like nailed on.

During the run in going for the title 2009 I thought we would never be beaten. We've never had a lot of luck down there and I've always worried when we go to grounds we stuggle at. Boro is one of them, spurs another. Thing is we sometimes sneak a win at these places. As long as we look the part against one of the contenders.

FA Cup Final 1996, very very confident we'd win, obviously lost, we were in amazing form that season and probably played the best football over a whole season in the last 20 years, i remember the league game at anfield when we won 2-0, Fowler got 2 and Schmeichel was amazing, most one sided Liverpool - United game ever, i thought we would batter them

Wimbledon in the FA Cup Final.

Tomorrow is our first real test in the league since Kenny took over and a massive test, whatever the result we need to show that we can compete with them.

Even when they went ahead I thought we would win, only when the penno was missed did I lose faith. Those were the days when we were forever blowing doubles

I think it's almost impossible for us to get anything from the game tomorrow, and my only real hope is that we keep the score down. Chelsea have hit form at just the right time, and so many people up and down the nation will be willng Torres to score. Which he will, probably on multiple occasions.

Still, I'm really pleased that it's me, insignificant in the grand scheme of the football club, making such negative predictions. That would have been the pre-match presser under Roy.
