Turn of the year also saw defeats to Reading Lille Benfica and Atletico.

 

I think we tried to 'shut it down' a bit after the Pompey fiasco, or rather the sequence of 1-0 to 1-2 games that were so unlike us under Rafa, but it didn't really raise much of a smile.

 

Just didn't see an awful lot more after the New Year, in fact Wigan was almost as bad as it got.

 

I think he knew it had got away from him and that there were no funds to make it better. Like I've said it's disgusting he didn't get the 'blip' year Moores gave the other 3, but Moores had long gone and I'll never be persuaded Rafa actually had the stomach to keep fighting a losing battle here.
