Odd first half, we're doing quite well for most of it and then we turn shit for little spells. Lucas is having a 'mare, twice he's given the ball away to give them breakaways.

Our attacking play is so frustrating as we've had loads of opportunaties to create chances but we're completley toothless.

Our football is so bad at times, it's incredibly worrying. I have no faith in us going forward.

I thought we started very well but it soon drifted back into the old routine. Babel has been anonymous, as we all knew he would be. This was summed up towards the end of the first half when the ball was played to him quickly on the left and he was one-on-one with the defender. He could have took him on and been through but he waited, and waited, and waited, and then played in a shit cross which was easily defended.

 

He has no balls. Yet perversely, he could do something really good in the second half because he clearly has the ability; bizarre.

 

We've been fairly solid at the back bar one or two stupid fuck ups but i'd rather we did lose the ball trying to actually play rather than just aimlessly hoofing it.

 

Lucas has really struggled in midfield, he's been too slow in possession, his passing has been very poor and generally he's practically been a passenger. Mascherano is doing well, as has been his recent form, and Gerrard looks dangerous (he's whipped in some superb crosses).

 

Come on redmen, we need the points today!
