Last night saw rafa at his worst - tinkering. Of course we have to rotate players - noone disputes that - but the fact is that putting a regular starter on the subs bench does NOT result in ANY fitness or energy saving for them (all it does is reduce the risk of injury, although i accept that is important). The players still have to train, and get mentally up for the game, and then usually have to come on for a cavalry charge! If Rafa wants to rest players, he has to simply give them the entire game off. If not, play them - and take them off when the game is comfortable.

 

If last night shows one thing (other than we are being extremely lucky at the moment, which is long overdue after the last 3 years!), it's that our reserves are NOT good enough to sustain a title challenge - Pennant was absolutely dreadful - and, worse, disinterested. Lucas was average at best. We'll need a couple of squad reinforcements in January as we're very thin in places after the balancing of the books this summer, although of course with the two corrupt cowboys, that simply ain't gonna happen!

Fuck Lucas off in January for no less then 4 million and Fuck Pennant off as well. Bring Plessis into his spot and invest the Lucas money in another right full or a winger better then Pennant. Foggia off Lazio has really impressed me any time I've seen him and I'd reckon he'd be available quite cheap.
