Dave, do you get anything from those ads which will show up in threads, between texts ? There can be seen all kinds of ads, so I guess you haven´t negociated all of these, but I guess you get something from them also ? And do I have to click them before it results in payment for you ?

 

Also some ads seem to have vanished from the top of the page. Like that Cherry Bomb Store ad or something, so have you made the deal only for a certain period with them, and now you need to look for some other adverticers ?

The google ads only generate cash when people click on them. But repeated clicking of them will only result in them suspending the account, so don't just repeatedly click on them for the sake of it as it will do more harm than good. Clicking on them when something grabs your attention is fine, as that's what they are there for.

 

The ads that appear at the top of the page are either paid ads that appear for the length of time the advertiser pays for (cafe sports for example), or ones that I've put there myself (such as the amazon affiliate one and the fanzine subscription one).

You should promote the link for the online shop Dave, the purple link in the banner. It is affiliated with some decent online stores, Amazon, Play, HMV and loads more and every time somebody buys something by following the link, you get a percentage of it. There's loads of retailers affiliated to it. I've bought some bits from Play through there and each time I use any online retailer, I will try to remember to buy it through there.

Have the Google-adds helped to create a constant cash flow for the corporation and have the TV and Radio showings made any difference to the publicity of the site ?

Google ads have always been on here, they don't pay much. I doubt that the lfctv thing has made any difference, but it can't hurt I guess.

 

The cafesports link up has been a massive help, and the TLW season ticket has been a success as well, and brought in money over the summer when things get a bit tight due to not having any games to sell the fanzine.

 

Overall things have been better and I'm a lot happier about the situation than I was this time last year. There's still some things that were suggested in this thread that I may try and go with, as there were a lot of good ideas in here.

Im a financial consultant and I work with a number of company's in Ireland. If there is anything that I can assist with in terms of bugeting, financial plans additional income streams etc I would be only happy to do so, and all FOC of course.

Amazon check the cookies on your computer. Just as long as you do it through the link on the left, then its fine Noos, you don't have to do anything else.
