We said last season midfield was a problem, and it was but it wasn't the only problem tactically we were a mess defence was shaky looking, 2 new midfielders in and from what we've seen in pre season and today nothing has changed at all, defence is a mess teams are out muscling us still and we run out of ideas upfront. This formation doesn't work at this level and the high line hasn't worked since we won the title.

Just now, Jennings said:

No way will they be consistent with this. They’ll fuck it up like they always do.

Yup. They always start like this and it just gives more ammunition to refs like Taylor who is always looking for ways to fuck us over anyway.

It then tails off after we get on the receiving end for a few games.

We need a couple more signings. This is no easy fixture regardless of form- Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on opening day is tough for anyone.

That said, we are miles off it from where we were -  I watched Arsenal yesterday and they would smash us all over the place

You can see why a player without an attachment to either club would see Chelsea as a more promising destination on today’s evidence. It might be that we need to go above and beyond with wage offers etc.

If they sign Caicedo, they'll win the league in a few years.
