Nah, no way it gets overturned. They’ll just use that damning freeze frame and the slo-mo to support one of their own. They won’t admit to another colossal fuck ups in the same game (or even three with the 1st Jota yellow) - otherwise it starts to look like something more than just incompetence on a barely imaginable scale.

Add in the fact Gomez should have had a pen

it's not even being brought up by pundits.

But it looks like

Curtis red

Diaz goal

Gomez penalty

Jota 1st yellow

Its a fucking pisstake.

We have few “snide” players in our squad, who would deliberately go over the top in a tackle. Jota maybe, but even he tends to trip up or ankle tap rather than go studs in. We aren’t a dirty team and it’s sometimes exasperating against teams who are more cynical that when we get free kicks we just put the ball down and get on with things rather than make a fuss, which makes the officials job easier. But the number of times a tackling players boot ends up coming down on a players standing foot, who’s played the ball, has increased I believe and maybe it’s not a coincidence, but it doesn’t always result in a red card. Jones was unlucky in the fact his foot rolled over the ball but partially on to Bissouma’s shin, and when the referee was shown the image on the pitch side, it was stopped at the point where it looked like a straight over the top challenge, making it easy for him to red card Jones. Was it deliberately stopped to make it look worse than it was? Unfortunately, given the number of contentious decisions going against us recently, and certainly since the Mac Allister Red being overturned, it might be easy to think every decision is sinister. Had that been Bissouma on Jones, maybe we would have been looking for a red?

Whoever played the var footage wanted a red given. He's shown a still and slow motion replay from angles to make it look worse. Didn't even look like he showed Jones foot on the ball and rolling over it. Darren England(who spent midweek in Abu dhabi) got the result he wanted

I can accept the Jones red card, it's a harsh one given there was no intent but you see them fairly regularly. The way the screen was frozen on the worst possible frame when the fat cunt went across for a look was dodgy though and the replays he saw seemed weighted against Jones.

The other four or five major decisions were the ones which really need looking into.

If the first one continues their number 17, goes straight through Robertson ,it's the reason he was on the ground injured when he was booked. Obviously no punishment for the Spurs player.

I don't think that's a pen, although I'm sure the other way round and it's given by VAR

The pundits, for all their complaining yesterday, play their part in puffing up the refs. The 'respect' conceit has become a teflon coating for the PGMOL. Take the uproar over Jenas' tweet about a ref a few days ago - 'Disgraceful...encourages disrespect...must apologise...blah blah'

There's an instinctive bias to find sense in nonsense when a ref is involved. I can't remember who it was, but one of our players got pulled up for 'tripping' one of theirs. The replay plainly showed the player tripped himself over. Neville looked at it and then, ludicrously, said something like, 'Er...maybe he clipped him a bit earlier...' Utter bollocks.

Everyone in the game either stays quiet about refs because otherwise they'll get fined, or stays quiet because they've bought into this 'respect no matter what' bit of crookedness. It's absolutely insane.

TBF Shearer went to town on all those things being a disgrace apart from the Gomez shout.

When he gets back from his suspension it should be:

“Curtis Jones, you’ve been gone too long.”

No way it gets overturned imo (though it should) - but hopefully it's about shaming them over the process (bringing him over to a context-less freeze frame) as much as the result.

It could be about asking for a reduced ban too, 1 game (harsh but acceptable) instead of 3 which would be ridiculous.
