do you mean they are ace, or there is partying? Maldives is on my list. More specific infor regarding certain island would be good if anyone knows

 

My mate went there with his Mrs Jim and literally described it as 'like a bounty advert'. Coconuts falling was considered quite dangerous though, apparently they kill about hald a dozen people a year.

 

He went to Sri Lanka as part of the same holiday though and said he hated that.

For that authentic Bounty feeling you should holiday in Fye where the advert was made.

I went there once.

Not only does it have the original palm trees, there is also a semi-tame pelican and shed loads of tourists.

Fye is situated on the NE corner of Crete.

 

Sad but true.

I went to Paradise Island in the Maldieves - about 4 yrs ago- no holiday will beat it

 

It has a bit more going on than the other islands in the sense it has swimming pool area! nothing like sitting on the edge of the Indian ocean watching the sun set!

The West coast of Barbados is a great place to go. The beaches are fantastic and there isn't an ocean in the world that can beat the Caribbean imo. Going out on a catamaran and looking 40ft down to the ocean floor to still be able to see fish on the surface is ace.

 

My missus has been to the Maldives as whilst she said it was a lovely place, you can get bored quickly.

Whitehaven beach you can't stay on because its not developed and is protected, but there are day trips. The sand is weird. REALLY white and crunches like ice under your feet.

 

The whitsundays itself is a collection of loads of different little islands. Some are busier, some are posh and expensive, some upmarket backpacker type places. Something for everyone basically.

 

Its a long way to go, but worth the trip.

We used to call the Maldives the divorce islands because so many couples would complain when they got back about how they argued while on honeymoon there because it was so fucking boring.

 

 

The scenery does look breathtaking from some of the islands though as does Mauritius.

Maldives is fantastic, beautiful islands and beaches / weather! What is your budget roughly? You can get 2 star islands to 5 star plus, it depends on how much you want to pay and the type of accommodation you want to stay in.

i.e beach bungalow or water bungalow, some have jacuzzi's etc.

I had lunch there. Not today, I hasten to add. Dropped off on one side of the island, the boat goes around the other side and sets up for lunch as you walk across to the other side.

 

The sand is so fine it's almost like white mud and as its so shallow, the water temp is beautifully warm. You can often see the silhouette of stingrays against the sand.
