Angst - Austrian film about a loony released from prison who wants to get right back on it and start killing again. The camera work is perfect and the soundtrack is pretty special too. Great stuff all round - 9/10

Rank average. Better than parts 2 & 3 (which were fairly awful), still nowhere near as good as part 1. I've added a point or so for Cruz looking fit.

The Wolverine 8/10 - the hardest X-Man plus ninjas, swords and shit. What's not to love about that? I know I'm almost certainly on my own here, but it's the best X-Men movie in my view.

Not sure about the last bit Paul but agree with the rest. I've got a Japan fascination which is why I wanted to watch it and thought it was class.

Watched the Wolverine today. Thought it was 30 minutes too long but Jackman's always good value and the story was decent enough. 7 out of 10.

 

Saving Mr Banks - Story of Disney's attempts to make Mary Poppins. Loved this, really nice story with good performances by Hanks, Thompson and the rest of the cast. Thoroughly recommended. 9 out of 10.

 

Don Jon - Had to neg Simon for not liking this. Enjoyed it's smart take on men's ideal scenario with porn vs women's own ideal scenario's through rom-coms. 7 out of 10.

Have you not thought about installing XBMC? It's free, you don't have to sign up for anything and you get your pick of about ten streaming sites which has just about everything on it in HD.

It'll probably take about half an hour to set up, but once you have you won't have a problem streaming anything again. Once you install XBMC, follow the instructions on this link http://www.xbmchub.com/blog/2012/04/24/fusion-easy-addon-installation-for-xbmc/ and you'll be able to easily install all the programmes to play them.

 

If you're adding add-ons from the link then there's Icefilms, 1channel, MashupTV, Project free TV and a few more that are good.

Prisoners - 8.5/10 really dark and depressing film, a bit too long but decent

Fruitvale Station - 6.5/10 another one that`s a bit depressing, not a massive amount of plot but worth a watch

Rush - 9/10 this was great, I didn`t expect to be in to it but thought it was excellent

American Hustle. A very enjoyable romp. Bale is good, Cooper and Lawrence are superb. And a special mention for Amy Adams tits.

The Abominable Snowman. 8/10. 

 

The creature of the title very much plays second fiddle to the conflict between Peter Cushing's man of science and Forrest Tucker's wannabe commercial tv showman (who wouldn't look out of place in some sort of modern network 'World's Weirdest Creatures' programme).

 

It's interesting to see that Hammer are talking about remaking it in 2014 given that conflict would be even more relevant to a SKY dominated generation.

I think First Class is head and shoulders above all of them mate but I also thought X Men 2 with Stryker in was really good. I thought the first was poor and the third absolutely dire.

First Class was fantastic. Agree that three was poor but I enjoyed the first one.Looking forward to Days of Future padt next year.
