I need some new comedian recommendations. I need to book something for a months time in Landan so was wondering if anyones read, seen , heard of anyone good and new? i.e not Jimmy Carr

I saw a Canadian guy called Stewart Francis at the comedy store in Manchester. He had some killer one liners which of course I've now forgotten. The one I can remember was: maybe dolphins don't want to swim with retarded children.

 

I'd imagine he'd be doing the comedy circuit. Also that night there was another funny guy called Will Smith (not the fresh prince). He was a self deprecating posh guy (or at least his act was).

 

A Canadian comedian called Russell Peters is doing a UK tour I think. He is a good observational comedian.

No way! Remmie's post reminded me that I saw an excellent Canadian comedian in Liverpool last year, but I couldn't remember his name, so I put "Canadian comedian Liverpool" in Google, and this thread was the top result! It hasn't even been up an hour!!!! I'm geeksmacked.

Backyard comedy club always has some brilliant acts on, and is a really cool little place. I think its bethnal green way but i cant quite remember.

I was in Liverpool recently..

 

Russel Peter is quite funny- his takes on growing up Indian (sub-continent not aboriginal) in suburban Toronto are really good. He does accents well.

 

One of the funnier is another Indian fellow from Newfoundland, name escapes me, but he's funny as well.

Frankie Boyle is the man of the moment. I love his stuff and also shout to Omid Djalili. I know he's not actually a new comedian, in fact he's been around for years, but his stuff is just being comercialised and his first DVD "No Agenda" is fuckin outstanding.

Not a new comedian either but get some Dylan Moran standup, one of the best around. We have 2 dvds and they're up there with the best of them.

Have to agree about Frankie Boyle out of Mock The Week, going to see him at the royal Court in June.Also, went to see Chris Rock in Manchester on Monday night and thought that he was superb,a definite cut above.

Have u seen mrs brown? Its Brendan o' Carroll an Irish comedian who plays Agnes browne, its a play about her 4 sons and her daughter, its the funniest thing i've ever seen. He's in Liverpool at the end of January here are his tour dates in 2008...
