He was ace, but he's the type of player who you really need to compile the right midfield alongside him for him to thrive. 

 

He needs energy around him like Gattuso, Vidal, Pogba (the Juve version).

It shows how absolutely astonishingly mental it is therefore that C. Ronaldo has scored as many goals in UEFA competitions as 5th + 6th combined. The consistency of C. Ronaldo + Messi is so far ahead of every other player in the history of the game that its plainly unreal. If you had told a fan in '05 that a player would be popping up shortly who'd put together more goals than half the rest of the top 10 goal scorers combined they'd think you're raving mad.
