Im as excited as anyone but for the love of god can we hold off on the comparisons with shankly until he starts winning things.

You seem to be suggesting that Liverpool fans are prone to getting overexcited.

The German sports daily - who also claim Klopp rejected a move to Spurs in the summer - say the former Borussia Dortmund coach's lawyer Marc Kosicke is currently finalising two sticking points with FSG before he agrees a €10m-a-year deal with the club.

The Americans want Klopp to work with the Reds' current first-team coaches Sean O’Driscoll and Gary McAllister, while he is insisting on bringing his own backroom team with him to Merseyside, including right-hand man Zeljko Buvac and video analyst Peter Krawietz.

And Klopp is also understood to want to have the final say on all transfers at Liverpool, rather than allowing the infamous committee to deal with these matters.  Probably worth keeping Gary Mc.

You tell em Klopp.

According to the express there could be a stumbling block.Apparently we are insisting on the coaches staying on,whereas Klopp wants his own men.

Colour me surprised.

Next an announcement that its all fallen through and we appoint another nobody after being told the owners tried their best to get a top man in.

Its the hope that gets us in the end.

Beginning to see stories saying this will be confirmed today. Beginning to get a little excited now.

"Liverpool are expected to name former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp as their new manager on Thursday."

Pedantic aside, shouldn't it be "Liverpool is expected...."?

Collective nouns can be taken as plural or singular in British English.
