Another world class performance from our by far best player. On the other hand the rest of the team weren't overly impressive until we were 3-0 up. The lack of quality and effort is depressing to watch to be honest.

The January transfer window is make or break for the future of this club. If we can bring in at least two or three quality players to strengthen our first eleven things are looking good, but if nothing happens and we finish outside the top four we'll have another summer of biting nails waiting for the transfer window to shut without Suarez leaving. FSG has to act and deliver something special in January if they want to maintain their "we want to win" ambition that has been spoken about on several occations. Well, this is the time to step up and show us there is action behind those words.

We are a work in progress on the right road with still a few faults that can be quite fatal at times

couple of successful reinforcements in january and with all the upheaval elsewhere over recent times we should be in a good position to start really going places

Thing is, he's spent quite a lot of dollar and most of what he's bought is shite, which puts both of those notions in doubt IMO. You're always going to be a work in progress if you keep buying the wrong players which - let's be honest -has been the issue for the last four years.

Said it before but for me it's all got the hallmarks of the Roy Evans era. A mediocre squad carried by a couple of top class attackers who scintillate on their day and paper over the cracks, but are let down by shite defensive players and organisation and an - at best - mediocre midfield packed with inconsistent players who'll run riot against sides on their day and when the opposition isn't at the races, but will come a cropper when the shit really hits the fan because they don't have the ability to keep it up over the course of a season, they have to be at their very best to go toe to toe with decent footballers, and nobody can be that all the time.

You need to build from the back and make sure that when you spend money on a player they're going to get in your side.

We're an "under construction" team with young unexperienced manager with lots of flair to attacking football but not so good yet defensively, world class attack and keeper, encouraging prospect of solid CB partnership, shite and unbalanced midfield & fullbacks, with need to buy 4-5 class players to the starting XI if we want to think seriously about getting back to CL once again for good.

We have been for 23 out of the last 24 years.

Thing is, genuine question, does anyone actually trust Rodgers to spend big money on those needed 'world class' players? It's more likely going to be a Nigerian loan signing from Inter Milan who mysteriously disappears and turns up in Monaco's reserves four days later.

As we've seen last January the big money isn't essential, but the point is having the proper tools to manage a good transfer window that will further strengthen us. And to have the full backing of the owners could also mean we might be able to aim higher than we've done before.

But most important is to show Suarez that we are actually going to go for the Champions League spot. If we manage that he'll stay unless some of the giants come in for him. Which I don't really think will happen because they spent so much this summer. Although you'll never know.

Suarez is top goalscorer in the league by two goals and he's only played 9 games. I'm going to come out and say it, not only is he the best player in the league by an absolute mile, he's the best player in the world at the moment on current form. If he continues at this rate he could score 35+ goals in the league this year, which is absolutely ridiculous.

I'm not sure of the need to trust Rodgers or another different manager with the transfers. Isn't it all about the committee now?

I'm disappointed by Rodgers, being a fan of his, and even though we are doing a bit better than I thought we might, I can't shake the feeling that we're a bad run away from a big fuck up. He really needs to sort out our best defensive set up and absolutely needs to get a midfield that can string decisive passes together. We could after his first 6 months, but it seems to have all gone west. Suarez is simply fucking brilliant.

A good question in full.

Bolster the MF in Jan.

Decide on your best 4 at the back.

Maybe sign another full back or two.

Hoyk Gerrard out of the midfield.

Sign a battle hardened sniffer as back up.

And we are ready for top 4.

Then who knows how we will spend the Suarez money next year.

If God saw that job description, every day would be a Sunday
