Fabio Borini

He's got some fire in his belly, fights for every ball.

I reckon he's gonna score plenty of goals for us.

I hope so. He certainly isn't going to shirk on workrate. He's not an obviously gifted player like Suarez, Torres, Fowler, Beardsley or Owen, but as long as he's effective and scores goals, who cares.

A bit like Dirk then?

*runs*

Haha. Well, I liked Kuyt, always did. But wasn't distraught that he left, and I would certainly hope for more goals from Borini.

I was also thinking about that goal-scoring prodigy Jordan Rhodes, who a few o the lesser Premiership clubs are all after. He's not pacy or blessed with skill, but he scores an awful lot of goals. Redolent of Aldo in some ways.

Could a player like that score lots in the Premiership, I wonder?

Wrong thread.

Borini has a few silky skills up his sleeve, no doubt about it. That over the head flicky thing didn't come off, but he's got 'em.

I like how outside of the club there doesn't seem to be the sort of coverage you'd normally get when you sign a young italian international striker for a decent fee, I've gotta feeling he is going to be ace and take a few by surprise, whilst Van Pussy flops hopefully!

Balotelli got sent off about ten minutes after coming on at Anfield. He calls that a beautiful experience? He's even crazier than I thought.

And in his other appearance when we beat them 3-0 he came on as a sub in the 16th minute and was then substituted (For De Jong!) with 10 minutes left.

I was impressed with his desire and work rate today, but he's just not clinical enough to play as an out and out striker. I'd be amazed if he scores more than 15 goals this season.

It's interesting to see the comparisons to Dirk have already been made, that's exactly what I was thinking after today's game!

You're basing that on how many games?
