My weddding cost approx £1500 all in and i can honestly say it was a great day and the people who came enjoyed it. My cousin had a big castle wedding with ice sculptures and all that shit, probably cost at least 30 grand, it was shit and a little tacky (think Pikey wedding mixed with whatevers popular in OK)

 

People who sell products or services wedding related are raking it in.

Even on my birthday, I usually just go for a meal with five or six close friends from my uni days, anything bigger than that, a party, big group of 'lads' night out etc would be a non-starter.
