Victory Shield

David Moli has just scored for England u16s. I can't watch at the moment, but it's on Sky if people want to take a first look at a player we'll be seeing more of next season.

I've heard good things and already had Utd fans mention the goal as having been a good finish.

Was Jack Dunn playing?

Dunn usually plays for the u16s I think. Isn't the Victory Shield u15s though?

The Victory Shield is u16s. Dunn plays for the England u17s because of the difference between English domestic teams age groups and international age groups ie:

England u16s have to be born on or after January 1st 1995

Liverpool u16s have to be born on or after September 1st 1994

I think it's because English domestic age groups have always been defined by the school year.

Jordan Lussey from the Liverpool u16s also played for England u17s for the same reason.

Nice one mate.

The Victory Shield is for lads still at school isn't it?

u17s have just won the Elite group, no idea who scored as yet. Found a stream, but only had five minutes left. The Spanish were resorting to kicking Raheem to get the ball off him though!

Smith was also on the pitch at that point. No sign of Suso so I guess he's at u18 or 19 level now. Don't think Morgan was on.

I think they changed it from u15 schoolboys (done according to the September date like the domestic teams) to u16 (whether in school or not) a few years back when FIFA changed all their age groups to a January date. The lads don't have to be in school but at that age they pretty much all are.

I've always wondered about Jordan Lussey? Anyone who knows anything about him? position etc?

Centre-half I think.

Jordan Lussey is a dual footed creative central midfielder with a good range of passes be it 10yds or 30yds.Can also play in the hole if req'd.Has been at the academy since he was eight as has Jack Dunn. Both players have signed scholar and pro-contracts so should see them both progress to at least Reserve level.

Thanks for the info. What is Jack Dunn's normal position? I heard he was centre mid, but I think he played wide for the 18s last week. He's left footed isn't he?

Some very good players at U16 level, a lot of praise has been given to U18's over last few months but the U16's have not been beaten for the last 10 games, penultimate game on Saturday against Sheff Wed, going for 11 on the bounce I would expect.
