Could he be a Lucas replacement and Masch is staying? - that would be better!

The above scenario did not enter my mind before!

Then a lb and a decent striker and I am reasonably happy unless there are any half decent rb's on a free or very cheap to top the transfer window off. Getting a young, fast, strong, good in the air cb may be pushing it!

Reina, Jones

Aurelio, new left back

carra, agger, skrtel, kyrgiakos

johnson, rb cover

jovanovic, cole, babel

gerrard, masch, aquilani, poulsen

kuyt, maxi

Torres, Crouch, Ngog, another striker

pacheco, kelly, darby, spearing providing a bit of back up.

El zhar hovering about somewhere!!

To be fair, I've seen that Danny and he needs kicking.

Much rather we signed him though.

Admittedly he would cost a lot as Zenit paid a ridiculous fee for him.

I don't see how he could be a replacement for Lucas seeing as we've given no indication that we're looking to get rid of him. As a replacement for Mascherano he is deeply uninspiring, and gives no real cause for optimism when it comes to the rest of Hodgson's transfer targets...

CHRISTIAN POULSEN’S move to Anfield has hit a stumbling block with Liverpool unable to afford his arrival until Javier Mascherano departs

He had his medical yesterday, he passed it. He is currently at Melwood with his wife. He got the press photos taken yesterday also. All according to this: Lige nu: Poulsen ankommet med konen - Fodbold

Back in the days of Bob, Joe and Kenny, this is the kind of player we would have been looking at and the kind of player who would have crawled over broken glass with his flies undone to come here aswell.

Michael Laudrup! Thought that was done and dusted.
