We're potentially in big danger now of being overtaken. We've got lucky the last 3 seasons because of the total lack of quality outside the top 4 (Everton pipped us to 4th in 05 but we managed to get in the CL through winning it). Also the great job Benitez has done but we need to be shopping at the top end of the market, rather than fighting for the scraps.

 

I think the Premiership is about to go now like Serie A was in the 90s, in that you've got alot of cash rich clubs. You had your established clubs like Milan, Juve and Inter all spending alot of money with rich owners but you had Parma with big money behind them, Lazio with Cragnotti, Roma and Fiorentina, so it was dog eat dog. Now most of them clubs are skint and its a dangerous game to play but that's why its essential that we got new owners and have a new stadium on the horizon to generate more revenue. CL football over the next few years is essential and Arsenal are in the same boat.

TV money. The new deal has come into play and prize money has gone through the roof. To put into perspective: Last season, United won about £30m for finishing top. Next season, the winners will scoop more than £50m; even the team finishing bottom will get £26m.

Anyway role on Everton in Europe, the greatest site in Football is them competing at that level. I heard theres already been talk of pulling them out the competition anyway after the trouble the caused last time.
