I've just seen this asked on Twitter. I've also left Gerry & The Pacemakers out because they will get votes just for YNWA. I'm sure I've missed a few boss ones.

For me it's Cast. It would be The La's if they carried on but then Cast wouldn't exist. I've seen Cast loads of times, always brilliant.

I saw The Real Things and Frankie Goes To Hollywood at that Eurovision Concert outside St Georges Hall last year but they only played one each. Still brilliant though. Relax by Frankie was number 1 when I was born which says a lot....

I loved Cast when I was in Uni. Their first 2 albums are great but then they lost their charm.

I've gone for The Coral. Amazing live and I still listen to all their albums. The fact they are still producing great music just nails it for me.

Echo and the Bunnymen.

I loved OMD up to Junk Culture which was too pop for me.

Architecture and Morality is one of the great early 80's albums imo.

That first Seagulls album still gets a spin too. I went to see them in Coventry in '82. I Ran had just been released. Cracking night that was.

I think they went to America not long after to support Squeeze and got an audience there.

Ian McNabb, Mick Head & Prowsie probs worth a mention for their respective bands and contribution to the Liverpool Music scene.

Mick is probs the most prolific singer/songwriter around - and some legendary tunes. Prowsie is amazing live - even nowadays. But I'd probably go for the Icicle Works as the best of the (very good) bunch.

Very idiosyncratic interpretation of Liverpool in this poll. As they’re on there, I’m going for The Coral. They’re one of the very few bands whose sound genuinely keeps evolving. You can always hear little hints of their influences but they never sound like anyone but themselves.

Some fucking great bands on there, though.

Yes. The Icies and McNabb did some great stuff.

Love Small Price of a Bicycle and If you Want to Defeat Your Enemy....

Head Like a Rock is pretty decent too.

We've been spoilt.

Voted Coral as they have the best volume of work. Butterfly house and Move through the dawn both underrated.

Mavers is a total genius. Not many can go toe toe with him armed with just an acoustic guitar. Need Everton to win the league and we might get to hear 'Raindance' and 'Human Race'

Just to be annoying I will point out one you missed - The Zutons. I actually voted the same way as you though Stig and would have done so even if The Zutons had been an option.

Shit I was sure I put them on there! Knew I’d missed someone fuck sake. Boss band, new album out and back on tour

Dave took my advice I drunkenly gave him in some pub on Duke st a few years back and knocked the ale on the head. He lived in a flat opposite my mate on Wood St for a while.
