Turns out the slump wasn't actually a slump. We'll have many games like this until we have a fit squad.

This is the correct response. The reason why we used to beat teams like this 9 out of 10 times is because we have far far better players. We're missing 6to7 starters from our fully fit first 11. It's been poor but it's a hodge podge of a team really against a decent team. It's going to be a very frustrating couple of months

Bollocks, that.

Brighton are entitled to sit in and make things difficult as the away team. We're not obliged to help them though by playing slow, lazy and safe football. It was Father Ted walking football episode pace. We need to quicken it up a bit.

I'd consider the new bloke and put Henderson into midfield to give us a bit of energy. Maybe take one of the central midfielders off. Shift Shaqiri to the number 10 position. Bring AOC or Origi on.

Hopefully Klopp will get into them at half-time and gaps might open up later on. But, Brighton won't be that tired. We've hardly shifted them around the pitch. They've had their slippers on.

At what point do we start questioning Thiago as our equal highest earner?

When he starts playing poorly. He’s won it back about ten times in this first half, more than the rest of the team combined. He’s been drawing pressure on, and releasing it forwards at the right time in many occasions. Apart from the defence he’s been a one man team at times, nothing happening in front of him.

Brigton are dogshite, averaging a point a game and have one less player missing than we do.

Same old problems again due to centre half issue.

Trent and Robbo are noticeably further back with Hendo and Philips and no defensive midfielder. Gini and Milner are slow. Thiago relies on quick movement and we don’t have it just now.

The energy of Hendo and Fabinho is lost in middle the defence don’t bring it out like our first 3 centre halves would and as a result the full backs don’t start as far forward.

I'd get that Davies on here and put Hendo into midfield.

Bobby’s stats

Passing accuracy 71%

Shots 0

Key Passes 0
Dribbles 0

Dispossessed 1

Bad Control 3

You’d struggle to play worse as a forward than what Bobby’s showing in the first half.

Bring Jones on for him, Salah as a no 9, and Shaq on the right please Jurgen.

No point crossing anything in just to have their grocks head it away, knock it in low and hard, and tell ours that you don’t have to wait to get in the box before shooting, at least make their keeper make a save and you might get a deflection on the way.

Currently, I’d take any goal for us to take the lead.

He's playing too deep and simple. He dives into challenges that build stats but actually reflect poor positioning and tackling technique. Whatever else he is, he's no defensive asset...

People still slagging Thiago. Remember when Gerrard had the likes of Baros, Cisse and Babel to feed and they were always too slow to read his play? The frustrating thing is our players are light years ahead of them now and should be able to feed off him all day long. Thiago is genuinely world class, anyone who can't see that hasn't seen a beaver in real life.

Yeah he's no defensive midfielder granted.
