I spent a night in the hozzy a couple of months ago (long story, MS shit) and it wasn’t a pleasant experience. Waited outside Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge in the back of an ambulance for about an hour and a half. Then there was no room for me. I was just left shoved in some corner on a drip because there was no beds available on wards. Discharged myself at 4:30 in the morning when I felt I was able to make it to the front entrance where she picked me up.

On the flip side, my missus had Covid during the summer holidays and she’s still not fully better. After she’d stopped testing positive she actually kept getting worse. She ended up in West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds. It was sound there when I went to visit/pick her up. Every time I went she was in her own room.

So anecdotally, the smaller hospital is coping better than the much bigger one.

Is Bury St Edmunds a tory constituency by any chance?

My ball saga continues. Having been told that a urologist would have me seen by the ultrasound team this morning I arrived to be not on their records for the day. I've ended up having to go back to A&E to chase it up, finally got into.the surgery assessment unit to be told by one doctor that I needed an ultrasound that day and another that I didn't. They both handled my balls.

In the end I went to radiology who said I was on their system but it would be a few days before I got an appointment but did give me the booking team number. I rang them they had a cancellation for this evening so I'm getting my balls scanned.

98% sure it's just an infection but that scan will show for sure if there's anything sinister or not.

The left hand doesn't seem to know what the right hand is doing at the minute. Like my balls.

Hope it's nothing serious mate.

I had a painful bollock 3 or 4 years ago.

Had the ultrasound done by a rather nice bird in her 40's and it turned out to be a cyst in the bollock tube.

I was told it was nothing serious (not sure if she was talking about the cyst or my cock) and it would settle down by itself which it did.

Fingers crossed for you mate.

Didn't Johnson promise to build new hospitals? Of course total bollocks but seems to have been forgotten about by the media

Apparently that meant they were also redecorating existing ones. So if an existing hospital was upgraded in any way then that counts as a new hospital.

Politics is all about how you phrase things so that they can be measured in the loosest terms possible.

How do you measure if the country has been levelled up?

Getting these brain fogs happening now. It’s been happening again since Thursday but on a lesser scale. Can’t even begin to describe it really. That night I ended up in hospital was one of the strangest nights of my life. Some of the time I didn’t know who I was, where I was or what was going on. Every time I woke up it was like starting all over again. Totally bizarre.

Got an MRI and they’ve found some new lesions in my brain. I don’t know if that’s what’s causing my head to go all fucked up but the neuro can’t come up with any other explanation.

You really need to fix your links. Always take you to an icon and not the actual article.

It always works on mine?

Anyway in summary, Johnson promised to build 40 new hospitals and there is a sneaking suspicion he may not have been completely honest.

I had something similar and it lasted for months, turned out to be a hydrocele. It's been gone now for over a year but I feel your pain, it's very unsettling and uncomfortable. Hopefully yours clears up.

Brain fog isn't something I've had to deal with really apart from a touch after Covid but I've been fine since.

I know what you mean though and at least they're seeing you.

The last MRI I had was 10 years ago and that showed my brain to be covered with lesions as well as one down the spinal cord in my neck a couple of inches below the base of my skull.

Fuck knows what it's like now and I'm not sure I want to know either, sometimes ignorance is bliss.

When my MS was relapsing & remitting I had quite a few flare ups, some of which were minor and some could be a bit scary tbh, but they settled down and relapses were usually dealt with steroid infusions. That was then though, these days I just get on with it. Being bloody minded helps.

The only thing I can say is try not to worry, all that does is stress you out which can exacerbate things, I'm sure you already know that though.

You know where I am mate.
