Fuck, not good news if he's out for 6 weeks although initially, the injury was thought to be worse so small mercies. Tsimikas had better step up.

I think the mindset of a player knowing he's about to get an opportunity like this is so different to being pulled from the bench mid-game or getting the odd cup game.

He knows his position is safe enough for the short term, so he can relax a little bit, but it's not an endless run of games where he can get too comfortable either. Klopp has also shown that a player can hold his spot in the team even when the preferred option is fit again.

I'm looking forward to see how he goes. At the club for a year today, he must be keen as fuck for Saturday.

At least Tsimikas can tell his grandkids that James Milner slapped him in the face once.

A good game tomorrow and I can see him getting a few appearances against the lesser lights because we don't want to run Robbo ragged again and we know Scotland will play him ever minute they can.

Robbo's a miracle man, but he looked absolutely goosed from about Christmas onwards last year, which wasn't a surprise in any way. Would be smart to try and get away with Kostas playing when we can. If we're well up in games at half time say, too.

Yeah, if he's fit for Chelsea great but we haven't got a particularly difficult schedule for the first few months so I'd give him quite a few breaks before we start going to war towards xmas

I've never known so many first team players to be tied down at all the same time. Hopefully, salah and mane will be next.

I'd guess the flurry is just catching up on those we were afraid to commit to during the uncertainty last year.

I’m fully on board with some of the criticism about net spend being low with regard to FSG, but the timing of these deals being announced and the way we have handled tying down our top players has been really good. The club are also acting strongly on refusing to release players for international games which is great. There are a lot of clubs ran a lot more shabbily.
