This seems to be the year they stopped even bothering to pretend that the fixture list is random. The TV money went up after all. It takes zero imagination to see the TV angle on these.

Some notable ones (i have left some out):

3rd weekend

Liverpool V Man United

Arsenal v Spurs

5th weekend

Man City V Man Utd

Chelsea V Fulham

2nd Nov

Arsenal V Liverpool

Everton V Tottenham

9th Nov

Chelsea V West Brom Mourinho meets protege Steve Clarke while...

Man Utd V Arsenal

8th Feb

Liverpool V Arsenal

Tottenham V Everton

Yes, you are reading that correctly. Arse-Liv and Spurs-Ever happens twice.

And what happens the following week?

11th Feb

West Brom V Chelsea Mourinho meets protege Steve Clarke while...

Arsenal V Man Utd

Yes, you are reading that correctly. That happens twice.

1st Mar

Fulham V Chelsea

Man Utd V Man City

15th Mar

Man Utd V Liverpool

Tottenham V Arsenal

Yes, you are reading that correctly. It happens twice.

There's more but i think that says enough

mmm...Don't they quite often try to mirror some of the fixtures? Reading too much into that I think.

Anyway looking at the fixture list we should win every game in August and September and be top with 27 points by the time we go to Arsenal in October. I think we may win the league with a record points total, goals scored and goals conceded.

The reverse fixtures always take place on the same weekends. Every season, LF.

Our start is pretty decent. After we play United in the 3rd game, we don't play another top side until November when we play Arsenal. Moyes on the otherhand has been handed the baptism of fire Brendan Rodgers was handed last season. Chelsea at home in the 2nd game, Jose has a fantastic record at the theatre of delusions.

Then they play Liverpool at Anfield. Moyes has never won at Anfield. We can make a real statement of intent by destroying them infront of our own fans. They play City away in game 6. Wouldn't Manchester City love to kick United in the face when they are down? It's something that would make my day to see Moyes shown up as the poor manager he actually is.

Aston Villas start is the worst I've seen yet?

Arsenal v Aston Villa

Aston Villa v Liverpool

Chelsea v Aston Villa

Aston Villa v Newcastle

Norwich v Aston Villa

Aston Villa v Manchester City

Hull City v Aston Villa

Aston Villa v Tottenham

Aston Villa v Everton

6 of the top 7 from last season in the first 9 matches.

I want to finish above united.

Its only happened the once in what 20 years?

Correct.

We finished above them in 2002. However, we finished 1 point behind them in 2006 even though we started our season in July and also had a trip to Japan. We also got further than them in the champions league, they finished 4th in hand-picked group. We also won the FA Cup having knocked them out, when Peter Crouch scored. John Arne Riise broke Alan Smiths leg which led to the tune.

''John Arne Riise oooh ahh, we wanna know ooh ooh, how you broke his leg''.
