  1. All signings whether they are left wing or obvious are catch 22. Signing players is a gamble. When Rafa was boss, the majority of his best signings were left wing( not obvious). There was the occasional left wing signing that flopped. When it came to making obvious signings, his record wasn't the best. Fernando Torres and Javier Mascherano were possibly his best two obvious signings. Look at Brendan Rodgers signings from last season. He's made 5 signings. 3 obvious and 2 left wing. With his obvious signings, he's got a 33% success rate. One of out three, Daniel Sturridge was the success. The jury is out on Allen and Borini. With his left wing signings, he's got a 50% success rate. Coutinho has been a success. Assaidi hasn't performed as well as we thought.
  2. They were also not selling Modric, Carrick and Berbatov.:whoops:
  3. Spot on. Which one of the two got a club promoted and kept them up with a minimal spend? Here's a hint, it wasn't Moyes. A lot of people wank over Moyes achievements of doing relatively okay with not a lot to spend. He's had a decent amount to spend. He wasted a fair bit on Johnson, Kroldrup and Yakabu. What about Brendan Rodgers in only his fifth year of management taking a promoted club to 11th with a spend of just £7 million. Mark Hughes spent 4 times that and finished 17th. If anyone cannot see that Brendan Rodgers overall football philosophy is a breath of fresh air, then something is wrong. The reason why it didn't work initially was beyond his control. He didn't have the scouts in place. He had to get the players he inherited to get used to his philosophy. Okay he didn't reinvent the wheel, as Liverpool didn't go from a Fat Sam team into a one touch, pass and move side. However what he did do was ensure there was more pressure put on the opposition, better ball retention and pressing higher up the field. It's very close to Rafa Benitez' class of 2009, but not as rigid. Two players, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho made a hell of a difference in the second half of the season. If just two players can make a difference, what difference can just 2 more attackers make? Brendan didn't hit the ground running as it was trial and error first half of the season. However the longer the season went on the better it got. 1 defeat in 12 and outscoring everyone in 2013 says it all. This is enough evidence to prove overall that Brendan Rodgers is superior in every way to the media darling that is David Moyes. And for the last time Brendan is not British, he's Irish.
  4. I've a feeling you're a member of the anti Brendan Rodgers brigade and you're hiding behind the ''I'm willing to give him a go'' shout. You're contradicting yourself. You're making out he's not good enough whilst claiming you support him. Brendan Rodgers was endorsed by Jose Mourinho who once was involved in a love triangle with two mirrors. Mourinho head hunted Brendan and saw him work at first hand. Moyes was endorsed by Baconface who endorsed Moyes because Moyes agreed to eat the scabs off his crack. I stand by my opinion Brendan Rodgers is clearly the better of the two, will prove to be the better of the two. Moyes is a clueless loser and is Harry Redknapp standard. He will ultimately prove as much when he falls flat on his face. When Man United are down, I am going to be one of the first to kick their fans in the face.
  5. Exactly. We managed to get £50 million for that injury ravaged half a player Torres when we sold him to Chelsea. Anyone wanting to sign Luis Suarez is going to have to pay top dollar. There is no compromise. Jamie Carragher spelt it out perfectly. Liverpool hold all the cards. Luis Suarez will be sold( that's if he's sold) on Liverpools terms. There will be no agreement on reducing the fee to suit the buyer, it doesn't work like that. Liverpool have a creme de la creme footballer, and those cost mega money. Real Madrid will have to stop acting the cunt and start putting their money where their mouth is. We have to act like we did over Xabi Alonso. We made them pay possibly over the odds when we forced them to pay £34 million. It was £30 million plus £4 million in add-ons.
  6. I can think of a number of reasons why there is a chance United won't finish in the top 4. 1. Moyes. 2 Anderson 3. Rooney being more sluggish than he was last season. 4. Phil Jones. 5 Howard Webb having left the club. 6. Rio Ferdinand.
  7. Fair enough. Liverpool never looked like gaining promotion under Phil Taylor. Liverpool appointing Bill Shankly was the best thing that ever happened to them. As for being the best team in Europe, that part is true. Liverpool were easily the best team in Europe in 1974.
  8. Moussa Dembele. Brilliant shout, that's the best suggestion I've heard in quite a while. If I could give you a positive rep, I would. He's one of the most under-rated players in the PL along with Santi Cazorla. He may not get a shout at Spurs now that Sandro who is a very good player is returning. I would love Dembele at Liverpool.
  9. If Suso were to go out on loan, my choice for him would be Aston Villa. They have a host of good young players and Lambert plays football in the right way.
  10. It's very easy to have more money than Everton, as Betty Hotpots bastard son(Kenwright) hasn't got a pot to piss in. Every man and his dog knows he's skint. It's spending and spending wisely. There is all this talk about Moyes and his brilliant signings i.e. Felliani, Cahill and Baines. Even Steve Bruce made a couple of very good signings. That doesn't make Moyes a good manager. There is also the talk of Moyes being ''One of the best young managers in the game. Moyes at 50 is young if you compare him to Slur Drinkalot who retired at 71. Moyes is not a young manager, not by a long shot. He's been a manager for the last 13 years too and has won nothing. Even Mark Hughes and Steve McClown have won something, and they are shit managers. There is a lot of Liverpool fans down on Brendan Rodgers merely because of his connection to Chelsea. I don't get that. Brendan Rodgers overall is a vastly superior manager to Moyes. Brendan Rodgers is a top young manager, and is the best young manager in the PL with Villas Boas second and Paul Lambert 3rd. Whereas Moyes whilst at Preston finished 4th in a two horse race and failed to gain promotion. Brendan did get Swansea promoted. Swansea under Brendan played football that only Arsenal could match. Brendan Rodgers in his first season managing in the premiership took little Swansea to 11th having spent £7 million. So the moral of the story is, stop arse-licking Moyes.
  11. Nah that's not true. Liverpool plan to offer Manchester United £80 million for Phil Jones. They are in need of a centre-back who turns like a ferry and runs like a cow. They miss Andy Carroll who did exactly the same.
  12. If it came to pass that Luis Suarez did leave, apparently Luis Muriel would top the list of potential replacements. His price-tag is currently quite low at £15 million, but that's a steal as it's set to sky-rocket in the next couple of years. He's 22 but he's a real star. Either on of Rakitic and Granier would be ideal as defensive midfielders. Then again Victor Waynama would do nicely.
  13. It's only Man United fans that won't admit that the only reason Charlton was knighted was because he survived a plane crash.
  14. Luis Suarez isn't joining Arsenal as he's allergic to dust. It's the same reason why he turned down a move to Everton. Everton and Arsenals trophy rooms created the ash cloud. Have you heard about a movie about an archeologist searching for buried treasure. It's called Indiana Jones and the Arsenal trophy room.
  15. I think you're getting the concept of a ''Team'' and ''individuals'' mixed up. A team is as only good as the sum of its parts. The ''team must be cohesive. Therefore a ''team'' doesn't really have a ''best anything''. However Luis Suarez is Liverpools stand out individual.
  16. What season will David Moyes be booted out of Old Trafford, my guess is spring..with United fighting relegation.
  17. Luis Suarez is not our best player. He's merely a cog in the team/ This goes back to the arguement that Liverpool are a ''one man team'' which was created by nitwits who haven't a clue. Liverpool don't have a ''best player'', they are a team and are as good as the sum of their parts. Towards the end of the season, Liverpools best performer was actually Daniel Sturridge. The statistics prove it too. Daniel Sturridge scored 11 goals in 15 games. He was statistically the most lethal finisher in the premiership. There is also another valid reason why Alacantra wouldn't leave Barcelona for Real Madrids feeder club. He's on the verge of being heir to the Iniesta throne. Why would anyone sacrifice that to join a club whose best midfielder is a Newcastle reject? Yes Carrick is a Newcastle reject.
  18. Go on. You said United will finish in the top 4. You're going to have provide reasons why. They also have lost Howard Webb, which makes their task ever harder.
  19. Please explain. I used that analogy because Barcelona destroyed Manchester United and Liverpool destroyed Newcastle. Tiago Alacantra would not join a club his current club destoyed, nor would Luis Suarez join a club Liverpool destroyed.
  20. You still have to base your point up with reasons. What you've done isn't enough. You cannot make sweeping statements without an arguement to back it up. So out with it.
  21. I'm going for Daniel Agger like someone else said as a matter of process of elimination. Lucas isn't vocal enough, and rivals Jordan Henderson as being the most softly spoken Liverpool player. Luis Suarez would make an excellent skipper, and he's got experience. However my reason for not picking him is he's a striker. That leaves me with Daniel Agger, as I believe the captain should be a midfielder or a centre-back.
  22. You mean the fat fucker on Koptalk. That's a fucking rip off.
  23. You seriously haven't a clue. It's the atitude of a manager which determines what atitude the side will adopt. Moyes set Everton to park the bus against the better sides. It's his mentality and his philosophy. He'll do the same at United. Manchester United may be harder to beat. However they won't score anywhere near as many goals as they did under Ferguson. Moyes' atitude is safety first. He knows too well that if he goes toe to toe with the better sides there is a chance United will be killed. Ferguson was occasionally cagey, but Ferguson did it when the points where effectively in the bag. One example was against us at Old Trafford. United were leading 2-1 against us and United finished the game with 6 defenders. Moyes is inclined to start games like that. These foruims are based on debate, which is all about agreeing/disagreeing. The fact is and I'm entitled to my opinion. I don't rate David Moyes, he's a poor manager. He is going to be found out to be the poor manager he actually is.
  24. Spot on. If Liverpool want to follow a clubs recent transfer policy, one to look at would be Newcastles. They went left wing when they signed Cheik Tiote, Yohan Cabaye and Papiss Cisse. They made some seriously clever transfers in the last couple of years. They were both effective and not so obvious. Philippe Coutinho has proved the less obvious works. Some of Rafa Benitez' best signings at Liverpool were not so obvious. Three of which are still at the club. Pepe Reina, Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger. None of these were household names when Rafa signed them. What about Rafa's investment in youngsters? Rafa took a gamble on a then 15 year old Raheem Sterling and paid £600k for him. The same can be said of Suso whom I reckon is going to be a terrific player. Kennys investment in Jordan Ibe was a masterstroke. He's got serious talent. He's believed to be better than Raheem Sterling. Doing the less obvious ensures you don't waste money. Liverpool signing Aspas and Alberto even though seen as a gamble could turn out to be a real coup. It's catch 22 as nobody knows.
