Liverpool FC/Borussia Moenchengladbach 4th consecutive Fan party

in Liverpool City Centre was "an outstanding success".

Friday, 30th December 2011.

The 2011 Borussia Moenchengladbach supporters annual friendship visit to Liverpool to support the Reds & 4th consecutive LFC/BMG annual Supporters Fan Party was an "outstanding success" stated LFC/BMG Fan party organiser Graham Agg. He stated "it was an honour for the Liverpool supporters to once again host as guests our friends from the Borussia Moenchengladbach Official Supporters Club".

The Gladbach fans were making their 20th consecutive friendship visit to Liverpool to support the Reds since 1992, and it was back in 1991 a delegation of Borussia Moenchengladbach supporters flew to Liverpool to present a cheque for 21,000 Deutsch Marks (approximately £7000) to the families of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster - an amazing gesture that has never been forgotten on Merseyside.

This year the Borussia supporters even brought their own band from Germany, the fantastic German Band "The Drunken Lullabies"! They sang Irish folk music and were truly outstanding as the packed audience in Flanagans Irish pub on Mathew Street, Liverpool City Centre were soon dancing along to their music.

Legendary Borussia supporter Thomas "Jonny" Polcher, who is the solitary Borussia supporter who has attended every single friendship visit to Liverpool since 1992 spoke to the assembled audience, also Graham Agg, who has organised an annual LFC Supporters friendship visit from Liverpool to Moenchengladbach since 2007, addressed the audience and thanked the Borussia supporters for their continual support and friendship.

Borussia Moenchengladbach are currently riding high in fourth position in the German Bundesliga with real hopes of qualifying for the 2012/2013 UEFA Champions League and with Liverpool also just outside the UEFA Champions League qualifying places it is real hope for these supporters that possibly both clubs could meet in Europe's Premier competition next season and show the rest of Europe a friendship that is absolutely unique in world football.

FOOTNOTE:- The 2012 & 6th consecutive LFC supporters friendship visit to Moenchengladbach will take place from Friday 27th April to Monday 30th April 2012 when Borussia are hosting FC Augsburg in the German Bundesliga in their last home match of the 2011/2012 Bundesliga season. Any LFC supporters wishing to join the LFC fans on their next friendship visit should contact organiser Graham via grahamlfc@aol.com for further information.

In 1991, a delegation of Borussia Moenchengladbach supporters travelled to Liverpool to present a cheque for 21000 Deutsch Marks (APPROXIMATELY £7000) for the Hillsborough families, an amazing gesture that has NEVER been forgotten on Merseyside.

LFC supporters were amongst the completely sold out 54,000 plus attendance at the Borussia Park stadium on Saturday 28th April 2012 to support Borussia in their fight to claim their first ever appearance in the UEFA Champions League versus Bundesliga strugglers FC Augsburg.

Just before kick off veteran Borussia Moenchengladbach stadium announcer Torsten Knippertz welcomed the travelling Liverpool supporters to Borussia Park & the town of Moenchengladbach.

The Liverpool supporters unfortunately saw Borussia, who are currently situated fourth in the Bundesliga table, only draw 0-0 with FC Augsburg, but this result ensured that Borussia guaranteed themselves a UEFA Champions League qualifying play-off match in August.

On match day the Liverpool FC supporters were once again invited to an all day Fan Party in the Borussia official “Fanhaus” situated near the stadium with amazing scenes of friendship between the Borussia & Liverpool supporters. Liverpool supporters once again unveiled a friendship flag with the words “A very special friendship” and also Rob Stott R I P - YNWA.
