His injury record is a cause for concern, definitely. But we currently have a grand total of zero wingers in the first team squad. I'm hopeful we're going to buy some top class ones, and spend some real money there. But we need more than one or two, and there's other areas of the squad that need strengthening as well.

 

I'm not massively inspired, but I'm not overly pessimistic about this signing. So long as we don't give him silly money and a huge wedge for signing on.

Seems a precocious talent but I have a bad feeling. Then again United bought RVN after one of the worst injuries in the game and look how he turned out.

I would rather stick Suso in the first team and spend Marveux's inevitably humoungus transfer fee and wages and put it towards the money to be spent on another player, one that would actually improve our first team.

No, we haven't. In the recent past, our bosmans have consisted of seasoned, medicore players, who've been expected to contribute to the first team at relatively zero cost. Voronin; Jovanovic; Degen. Quelle surprise when it's emerged that we've gotten what we paid for.

 

Marveaux's still a relatively young player, and so long as we're not pinning hopes upon him to hold a regular starting berth, there's no reason why he couldn't contribute over the season.
