I wondered why you have become more scarce on here. You are developing 'The Rico Syndrome.' Next you will be yelling at immigrants and be telling gay people to 'Man Up' and things like that.

I have no idea how you work that out. It couldn’t be further from the truth

I think Twitter reflects what we're like as people to an extent, which isn't a great picture at the moment for many obvious reasons. For every person or group manipulating or being idiots on there though there's either people not into that stuff or those trying to bring people together instead, even if some of those efforts are also flawed like we naturally are.

If you use a mainly politics/news focused account remember to take breaks regularly because it can get really toxic, negative and depressing due to those you follow bringing up constant issues that they think need highlighting.

All of this can be almost completely avoided if you set up an account for some other interest. Like music, gaming, sports, or whatever. You see others mentioning Trump or whatever other political stuff from time to time but it can be skipped past and left.

The biggest problem I've always had with the place is that trending topics have been fucked around with by staff for at least a decade or so I think so it leaves you wondering what agendas some of them have behind the scenes and who they're working for, but it's not like we're going to find that out easily or any time soon I suppose. Maybe some ex-staff will reveal a load of that in the future though.

It could be that it's fairly corrupted like Facebook but some of the Twitter staff are better at keeping it from causing huge newsworthy issues and not as stupid at what they're doing. That also sucks but that's big corporations that can influence millions of people on a daily basis for you.

The only solution of sorts would be for a right-wing social media site to cause a huge amount of that lot to leave twitter, and a centrist one and a left-wing one do the same so there's not constant battling. A lot of people and groups want to influence others though and gain support/manipulate others/spread propaganda around so maybe there's not much chance of that happening.

Ive just read through some of that and it only reaffirms my position.

People who’ve done a quick google arguing against others who’ve done a quick google.

’Churchill was a racist’ ‘No he wasn’t he was a hero who saved us from a racist’. No, the argument is much more nuanced than that. He was a cunt, but he did a lot to ensure the Nazi’s were not allowed to run roughshod over races and history and his place in history should be preserved warts and all because he is part of the problem and the cure. Understand him, his motivations, it’s historical context and why that’s a significant part of our collective histories and futures.

It’s like being lectured to by a sixteen year old about life and morality.

Or a man city fan on what it takes to win the league.

Sarcasm,Cath. Read rico's post on transgenderism(is that even a word?) And his obsession with Twitter. A bit like 'keep picking your nose and your finger will get stuck there.'

The biggest problem with the twitter is that you get people who falsely accuse people of being anti-semitic for disagreeing with them then get offended and report you when you call for them to be fed to alligators

Yeah the anti-semitism stuff got really tiring, at least a lot of it has passed now that the threat of socialism and some type of equality from Corbyn and Sanders has gone so a lot of them have calmed down. Really pathetic how fake so much of it was though, one of the worst propaganda campaigns I've ever seen on there.

Yeah it was awful mate. How none of the lying cunts have been dragged through the courts for slander is beyond me.

Quite the opposite, Riley and Oberman have had a few retractions, apologies and have won the first stages of several libel actions.  Notably about the ‘grooming’ allegations.

Who can afford to do it? Its the reason its done, nobody but the mega rich can afford the costs. It has nothing at all to do with 'truth' or 'justice' its just a game without consequences.

Er as you well know mud sticks.

I posted a link on here somewhere, the panorama hachette job on Corbyn has been nominated for a Bafta. A lot of the allegations made in the programme have been proved to be false. Ken Loach who has won a bafta and is on the committee described the decision as demeaning of Bafta and scandalous. It appears that the bafta board who push through nominee's are filled with freinds of israel cronies and sympathisers.

Make of that what you will.

It doesn't matter anyway. Laura Kuenssberg was found guilty by the BBC of breaching impartiality guidelines by basically lying about Corbyn. She was Political Editor at the time. She is now Chief Political Correspondent when she should have been sacked.
