I'd agree, but Here deserves an honourable mention too. I really like the b-side to Rattled by La Rush as well, but I can't remember what it's called.

Was it 'Easily Fooled' ? I seem to remember that there were 2 or 3 songs on the B side of that EP and a couple of them were no great shakes, but Easily Fooled was quite a good choon.

It was Easily Fooled. Very country-fied. They were such an ace band.

Thats the one, I was going to say in the other post that it had a Country feel about it if it was the one I was thinking of.

They could be a bit hit and miss at times, but when they hit, they really did. Some songs on Crooked Rain were ace, some not so.

Sorry for the delay!

I really need to get to grips with Pavement. Only got a couple of albums, and I feel I've not listened to them nearly enough.

Which albums do you have? There's positive moments to be found on Slanted and Enchanted, Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, Wowee Zowee and Brighten the Corners in my opinion. Though the first two are clearly the best..

Slanted and Wowee Zowee. I don't even know which the first two were.

You need to get Crooked Rain then Prof, even though Slanted is their finest hour, some of Crooked Rain is ace.

Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain it is then. I shall be heading down HMV on Monday anyway, as the new Les Savy Fav album is out.

No need to pay HMV prices Prof, you will be able to pick that up on eBay for next to nowt I would imagine....or on Amazon.

If you're buying Crooked Rain probably best to try and get the double CD reissue as it has loads of good stuff on including a better version of Easily Fooled.

Brighten the Corners is their best LP for me.

Have confirmed they're back together. Woo hoo! Though so far only a handful of New York gigs confirmed. Was considering a trip to New York next year anyway; may tie it in if they don't confirm UK gigs in the interim.

Woo hoo indeed. Count me in for tickets to New York and a Pavement show, I'll pay you back.
