Reminds me of a young Andy Robbo

(A younger version of Robbo, I won't pretend I watched much of Robertson until we signed him)

He’s got some of Robertson’s intensity and energy, not as extreme as the former though.

But far more composed on the ball than Robertson.

Looks a very good player already.

It’s early days, I know.

But I’m actually struggling to remember a better performance from RB at this club. Trent has delivered some extreme performances, mainly caused by extreme attacking play, probably even better than Bradley tonight. But never recall seeing Trent combine that with such a fantastic defensive performance.

He reminded me a bit about a young Rob Jones, only with far more end product.

Too early to go overboard, so sorry about that, but if you look at that performance in isolation, what more could he actually have done?

I don't think that's true.  People target the space behind him, because he plays so far forward; that's a deliberate tactical choice that pays off handsomely.  When he is actually defending, he's nowhere near as bad as everyone says: he doesn't get beat easily.

I trust Klopp to decide how best to use him.

I trust Klopp as he knows best at the end of the day, but really don’t know how or why anyone tries to argue that Trent doesn’t get beaten easily and often anymore. It’s not even debatable.

Think the outcome is Trent who’s been amazing going forward this season may have to also pull his finger out to consistently do the job he’s capable of defensively as well as someone’s there showing him up

I don't want to be slagging Trent off but he came on to the field and went way out of position over on the left hand side of the pitch. Konate was minding an acre of ground.

Small sample set but Bradley is still contributing offensively and locking down the right side.

Nice problem to have

What a performance that was!

He plays with the same youthful excuberance Trent had when he broke through. He might even be a more rounded player than Trent was at the same age. He looks to be great 1v1 defensively, which is the one thing Trent has struggled with at times. Great option to have in the coming months.
