No, but apparently easy and all done within 7 days.

What is the current account switch service?

If you want to switch bank accounts, the current account switch service (CASS) makes it a smooth and simple process. CASS was introduced to stop banks dragging their heels when customers were looking to move their current account to a new provider.

As part of Pay UK, the organisation that runs automated payment systems, CASS guarantees to complete the transfer within seven days. Your old bank talks to the new one, and everything is switched over automatically, including your balance, direct debits and salary. There is no fee to switch bank account

I've been looking and First Direct look ok any feedback on them would be appreciated

I switched from Lloyds to First Direct last year. All very smooth and the £100 welcome bonus was a nice touch. Only had to contact them twice and got through quickly each time. You can also use any HSBC branch if you need to go into an actual bank.

Thanks VV do you use the online banking app ? I've just had a look on the reviews for it and they aren't exactly glowing but I'm quite happy to give it a go

Yes mate, i use the app. It does what I need it to, probably not quite as good as the Lloyds app was, but I can check my balance and statements and pay in cheques. If you need to pay in cash you can either go to a HSBC branch or to a Post Office.

I had my mortgage with them... they were excellent even when I was jobless for a while and missed payments
