Desailly and Passarella

I’ve gone old school. John Charles was one of the greatest players these Islands have ever produced. Could play Centre Back or Centre Forward with equal aplomb.

 

Without looking it up, I think he was voted Juve’s greatest ever overseas player. It might have even been something more impressive than that.

 

I also went with Sicrea. Actually saw him play once in a testimonial at Elland Road for Charles and Bobby Collins. A couple of unknowns who called themselves Rush and Dalglish also played. A true great who died too young.

Went with Desailly and Puyol. Nearly pikced Passarella but didn't see enough of him, only youtube and old matches but he looked like a proper player. 

 

Desailly goes without saying but Puyol was a proper leader and a man. Love the fella.

Desailly was a hugely significant part of that French team that won everything, so he gets a vote.

 

I've got a bit of a soft spot for Lucio and Puyol, but I've gone for Charles (admittedly on reputation alone, as I've never seen him play).
