And the quality of player on show is what? League 2 at best? I don't see why everyone gets excited about games like Mexico v Iran, just because it's the World Cup. Lame.

Quite often those are the best games in my opinion, as both sides fancy their chances and go for the win.

I was impressed with Iran in the first half but as the game wore on the Mexicans got a strangelhold and deserved to win.

Marquez was quality, just a shame for him that there aren't many top players around him in that team. Can't see them progressing far at all, and my long shot treble involving them beating Portugal looks dead in the water for me.

I think Mexico might just be my new favourite team! I loved it where one of the players got knocked over in the box and it was a blatent penalty, but the ref didnt give it and he just got srtaight back up and didnt complain or shake his head or anything, really honest hard working players who appreciate playin in the world cup.

And the player who cried at the end, I'm really glad mexico won for him and his dad.

And the shirt is fucking ace too, one of the best shirts in this world cup!

If they get England they'd win as England wilt in the heat, whereas the Mexicans are used to it. Mayan sun gods and all that.

It's like when you sometimes get two top fighters in the ring and they bore the arse off you, then you get a club fight two nobodies and it's top notch entertainment. Besides, part of the intrigue of the world up is seeing how well these teams do, and how their styles match up against other teams that you don't get to see play very often.
