Someone off here was trolling me on ebay last year when I was trying to sell my road bike. I'd have been lucky to get £100 for it at the time but just wanted rid so would have taken whatever the highest bid was. However, I couldn't be arsed playing games with the troll gobshite who just kept asking question after question after question, so I removed it from sale.

Relisted it just over a week ago as now is a really good time to sell bikes. Got over £300 for it and it was picked up on Saturday.

Cheers for that whoever you are.

Turdseye written all over that.

Anyone had any luck with ebay acting like wankers as well as the seller.

Bought dice i need for a game i play, only got 1 pack instead of 2 as i paid for but because he has supplied a tracking number ebay has said I'm not getting a refund. Trying to go through paypal now.

Thing is i think ebay have dealt with it via some algorithm as as soon as i escalated it after waiting a week for a response from him it was rejected. So for two weeks they've ignored emails from me now

I'm surprised a seller is willing to risk negative feedback over something so trivial. What did the seller say when you contacted them? In my experience they fall over themselves to put things right.

Nothing, completely blanked all messages. I have tried to contact what i think is there shop online and even via facebook messenger but blanking everything. If i get no joy with Paypal i'll just hit all the games pages tagging them in. It's only £8 but its not the point

Their algorithm for recommendations is shit.

I'm working towards building a couple of Nova's to hopefully do historic rallies in Europe with so I've been buying up useful spares and keeping an eye out for complete cars that I can use as donors for competition shells.

Every other day I get an email off eBay now with recommendations for 205 GTi parts and cars "because you searched for Vauxhall Nova". Because clearly, someone buying and searching for Vauxhall bits is clearly in the market for a Peugeot.

Say what you will about Bezos' lot, but at least when they recommend stuff it's actually relevant to your interests.

Are you going to do The Mongol Rally? I once had to source a Robin Reliant, drive it across gridlocked London during one of the hottest summers on record with not so much as a working blower, then spray paint the cunt yellow, for some other bod to get it as far as Romania. Looks like such a fun thing to do.

I've a chance of a pair of GTE road cars locally, both are complete but one of them has had a light roll. Thinking I might try and build the one which hasn't been rolled into a nice road car and keep the old interior out of the rolled one as spares for it. Then get the shell squared up on the old one, cage it and build it to proper Group A spec. to do historic stage rallies in.

Basically built to the same spec as these.

Modern events you really need oodles of power to compete even in the smaller engine classes, because historic regulations limit you to what was officially homologated by the manufacturer the car has to match the original specs. It also means the car effectively never can end up becoming outdated as you can just continually run in that class.

I also have quite a lot of bits for a Nova Sport and the chance of a genuine sport bodyshell with it's logbook which was a limited run they did to sneak in using bigger carbs on the 1300 ones. Fancy that as a road car as well, but also remanufacturing all of the limited production bits they used on those and selling them to people wanting to do replicas.

Plus I'm also looking to maybe build a rally cross one and doing the Retro Rallycross class with that.

All very easy to plan, bit more difficult to do. At the moment weighing up selling off one of my Escorts and maybe the BMW's to fund going the Nova route instead.

Boss thread, this. One of the classics.

Bumping it because my mission over the weekend is to sort through loads of Turdsette’s old toys that she doesn’t touch but are still worth a few quid, dust them off, photograph them and then put them on eBay and/or Facebook Marketplace.

I’m already dreading the £1 hagglers.

Haha!

The times i have given away stuff for free on FB marketplace and some cunt says 'can you deliver?' they get all the abuse i can be bothered to dish out.

FB marketplace is the absolute worst.  Tried to sell my daughters pram on there and invariably cunts usually from London, but nowhere near local, were asking me to deliver it.  Wankers.  Ended up giving it to charity as I wouldn't any of those cunts getting it.

I've stopped selling on Ebay since they changed the process, I believe you no longer receive funds via PayPal and have to register a bank account? Fuck that for a game of soldiers.

I'm old school Ebayer since about 2001 when there were bargains to be had and hardly any business on there, all just people selling their stuff and when I won something in auction I'd be sending cheques out  in the post.
