Apologies if this has been done before but of all the candidates for our worst ever player (and Jesus H there have been plenty of them), which one do you feel claims the prize? I'll go for El-Hadji Diouf. An absolutely shit player and a horrible human being.

There's player I hate more than others who were obviously less talented (Diouf), but leaving aside all the obvious candidates (Carter, Tanner, Piechnik, Kvarme, Bjornebye, Stewart, Song, Nunez, Meijer, Morientes, Voronin, Diomede, Diao, N'Gog et al) the shittest players to play for us recently would be:

If we're taking it as a combination of ability and general cuntishness then it has to be Itandje, from Diouf.

 

I never saw Paletta and Dossena as shit (in the "worst ever" sense) to be honest, but one player who left his home country way too soon, and one who shouldn't have left his at all (meant with all due respect, since Argentina - even domestically - and Italy are hardly footballing backwaters)

 

And Insua's not even the worst left-back we've had in the past 12 months.

Sean Dundee, a big lump of nothing. Probably the worst ever

 

Nicky Tanner, I think a few years later after he left the club, Molby came out and said he hated shit footballers, so much so that when he encountered them in training he wanted too lamp them one. Nicky Tanner was one of them.

 

There's a few more. Speedie - Carter - Hooper (GK) - Piechnik - Diao - Voronin - Poulson to say the least.
