Well the question, "do you fear for them?" Is often asked on here albeit, tongue in cheek.

I would like to confirm that I don't.

I want them gone/bust/points deduction incoming/record low gates/BMD mothballed.

Any family I have associated with them are all horrible twats, si in short. Fuck them.

Oh everton.

They have had the wildest ensemble of managers since Moyes left, genuine world class, top tier, relegation dog fight specialists, up and coming, steady Eddies, fan favourites and every single one of them has failed.

You'd have to ask yourself, if you had reflective abilities that is, are we the problem?

At what point do they start to realise it's a 'you' problem, not a 'them' problem?

The beauty of this situation is that I genuinely believe the fans are a big part of the problem.

Weak people like Moyes and Kenwright spun this narrative that everton fans are special and unique. From that, said fans took away the belief that they're somehow owed something for their loyalty, and that if they don't get it, then somebody somewhere is going to pay. So you end up with roadblocks, racism, threats and all that shite.

You've gone from Kenwright wiping tears from his glasses as he watches the fans queue outside to greet the coach as they face yet another relegation playoff, to literally fearing for his life.

They've created this truly poisonous, entitled frankenstein's monster of a fanbase which has left existing and potential players at best uninterested, and at worst petrified. There's no social contract between players, manager, fans and club now.

Exactly. That poisonous 'People's Club' shite that Moyes promoted and Kenwright fully bought into to disguise their mediocrity was the start of this. You can only inculcate that sort of everything and everyone's against us attitude for so long before it turns into a deep seated resentment and bitterness.

There's absolutely nothing to celebrate and enjoy about their own position and hasn't been for decades. So when the ridiculous fantasies of the 'power shift' are destroyed through their own club's utter incompetence and, possibly more importantly, our own return to to glory (however briefly), it gets turned inwards because there's no one else to blame.

They're not a big club any more, they're not special or remarkable in any way now, other than being the worst run club and most delusional of fan bases. It must be horrible for them to realise that, but they've willingly swallowed the bullshit about how special they are for too long, so fuck them.

The peoples club nonsense also hid the fact that they were absolutely shite aswell.

We haven't won a trophy for nearly 30 years but at least we are Born not manufacturered

That's exactly it. A cover for how fucking crap they'd become, a way to lower expectations and celebrate the mediocrity of the odd top 6 finish as a triumph because doing that was as good as winning and we're the guardians of the true flame. Forgetting they were fully invested in kicking off the PL gravy train in the first place and completely fucked it up. We did too, but at least Houllier and a boat load of investment arrested the decline.

I don't know about that. Depends on your perspective, but I think they could still be called 'remarkable'.... just not in a way they'd like!

Haha. At least they're getting noticed now I guess. That 10 year period of usually getting top half finishes from 2005 onwards must seem like a dream now. But it wasn't good enough for them, hence the ridiculous bullshit from when Moshiri took them over.

Like Man United, I still don't see what the problem is. They've massively overspent, done what the fans wanted... but fucked it up. Difference in scale of course, but like their favourite second team, they've reverted to the mean- trophies in patches, but fuck all for long stretches.

Is Moyes the last manager who they stuck with through a sticky patch?

I ask that not just about the owners, but the fans too - they were chanting for Martinez to get the boot and got their wish with one game to go when the team were 12th and had reached the semis of both domestic cups.

All jokes aside, they really are pergitory FC.

They are a mess from top to bottom. Too shit to compete in the Premier League, not quite shit enough to go down.

Let's take Aston Villa and Newcastle for example. Both have managed to get relegated, but then promoted and have now overtaken Everton and are playing European football this season and look set to have very good seasons again this year.

Going down might be the end of them, but also it might be the major reset they needed about ten years ago, either way surely its got to be better than the constant groundhog day scenario they are in now.
