The Spanish tactician has recently spoken to independent.ie, saying that he wouldn't ever rule out a return to Anfield. Liverpool is a part of him, that is for sure.

"I am monitoring carefully everything that's going on there. I have a lot of friends there and I received a 'Justice' scarf from the Hillsborough families group that is in my office at home. Again out of respect I think it is important that I talk a little bit about the past but especially about the future. For me, at this moment, that is Inter Milan. I keep my house there, we are based in Liverpool and in the future we will be there again."

Right now, he thinks about Inter and the challenges but he knows more than most what football can bring and how he might return.

"You never know, football is football. It could be in five years' time, ten years' time, two years' time. We have two years of a contract here, we are really pleased here, the people are very nice, the fans are very similar to Liverpool fans, with passion, so everything is going well."

But Liverpool is home? "Yeah-it's the only house we have. Liverpool is my home and I will come back."

Benitez's reign at Anfield was marred by the pace at which people at the top did things. It could have been so different for Rafa if he ended up with Vidic, Alves and Simao instead of players such as Skrtel, Arbeloa and Pennant. He had to compromise with 2nd rate players, when he shouldn't have had to. The players I mentioned were just a few examples of how it could have been so different. Of the players I mentioned, not a single one would have broken the bank when we were close to getting them by any means.

A lack of money and speed cost Rafa, not "defensive" tactics. Defensive tactics is playing Meireles on the right wing boys. If he could have got those targets that he so desperately wanted, I seriously have no doubts we would have won that elusive league title with Rafa.

Benitez had to put a lot of faith in to people like Macia, because the funds just weren't there. When he did have the money, he usually spent it very wisely. Some of you may say, "but what about Alberto and Keane"? My reply is this, Aquilani was in reality £6million and was meant to be joined by Jovetic - which unfortunately never happened - and Keane was just a massive suprise. Everyone thought he would do it for us.

I hope the man does well at Inter. But referring to the question in the title; yes I would have him back.

His managerial reign here was so underrated by many, but he leaves a legend and will forever be appluaded by me and many others. He understood the city, the fans and most importantly stuck up for our club to the end. His leaving gift of 96000 to the Hillsborough fund was a great example of what a great man he is. But that's just what great men do.

Too soon. Maybe a few years down the line.

Ever is not a word I like. Today, he does not belong here, neither is he our savior from our present problems. Clearly the club has a special place in his heart, let's see what happens as time goes by and emotions cool down.

Good posts.

Now is not the time.
