Which was a very good signing in a strange way. Yes he was shite but he did coaching work in terms of teaching the team the zonal system.

It hasnt worked out too bad has it apart from the odd game!

Maybe Ronaldo can teach the strikers to score a few goals, do a few stepovers and the like? ;)

He was woeful.... him and Torben Piknic are the worse defenders ive ever seen play in a red shirt.

But without the Pellegrino signing I doubt we would have won no. 5...so it was a good signing. Although I would rate Nick Tanner and Julian Dicks far worse than both Piechnik and Pellegrino.

Unless we could get him on an initial loan and a pay-as-you-play/score contract, I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. Players like him and Mascherano are deffo worth a punt, but only on terms that are highly favourable to us until they've banished any doubts about their ability to cut it at Liverpool.

If Ronaldo ever signs for Liverpool it would be in a straight swap for Rafael Benitez.

To be fair Ronaldo is carrying a few pounds, but the Boss isn't about to disappear down a drain by any means.

"Winning trophies makes me fat", as one wag (in the traditional sense) pointed out.

what is the untraditional meaning of wag?

Orange-faced, thick-as-pigshit, manicured bag-of-bones hanger-on - WAG was originally an abbreviation of "What a Gormo", but was bastardised into "Wives and Girlfriends", particularly those of professional footballers.

Ms Tweedy is the exception.
