You have to defend deep with Maguire or protect him by playing 3 at the back and pressing high so that teams play it long to him.

In today's football, you just can't have a defender as unathletic as he is if you want to play attacking football, and it's not like he reads the game particularly well either.

I never really rated him, and despite his flaws, sometimes I think he's too criticized and people have gone too far. Then I remember he's a bellend.

Some of Maguire's defending here is hilarious. I especially like the one at 1.16 where he heads it back into his own 6 yard box. I haven't seen stupidity like that outside of a Musafi compilation. £80m... fucking hell.

My favourite is the one where Maguire and Shaw run into each other in our game at OT this season. Naby says thanks very much and rolls it to Trent who crosses for Jota to tap in.

Fuck me.

Joe Gomez can't get a game and Nat Phillips had to go out on loan. Meanwhile, this absolute liability is the captain of one of the biggest clubs in the world.

The one after that, a European away game, where he just nods in the direction of a ball that's a couple of feet in front of him.

Giving the captaincy to an alleged rapist when another alleged rapist at your club is going through a very public case is probably not the best message to send out.

No allegedly about it, he is a rapist going by his own words.

There’s quite a few if you watch it from the start?
That said I couldn’t bare watching till the end, I was embarrassed for him (and that music…)

just read this from today

The interim manager stated that Harry Maguire, whose form has drawn criticism, would remain the captain. “Harry is our captain and will stay our captain until the end of the season,” Rangnick said.

McGuire is just another in a long line of English players who get talked up by the press and their original clubs to inflate their value, he's always been shite, Grealish is shite - 100million - absolute shite. There are no truly world class English players, none. Trent will be one day, yet laughably isn't valued by the England mob.

England have loads of good players. Trent, Reece James, Mount, Foden, Rice and Kane are all very good.

And then you have Stones, Sterling, Grealish, Saka, Sancho who can be very good on their day or have potential.

But yeah, no one that is among the 10 best players in the world, let's say.

They're 'decent' players but in tournaments especially there's nobody in that squad you'd want on a Panini sticker, the fact Kane is compared to Shearer is laughable.

Beckham, Scholes, Ferdinand, Campbell, Owen, Shearer, Ince, Adams, Seaman, Gerrard - although he never hit his Liverpool peak - none of these England players are anywhere near them.

I don't know where the obsession with overpriced English players come from, it's quite bizarre.

From Gary Neville

"I remember when I joined Sky and we had the Champions League in the early years, and I went over to Napoli to do a game involving Chelsea. It was when Andre Villas-Boas was their manager and he left out Frank Lampard, Michael Essien, Ashley Cole – four or five prominent players. "I remember sitting there at lunchtime with our team and they were getting messages of team news being leaked and the manager being slagged off, and I sat there thinking: 'Does this actually happen?'"Players agents and PR teams were briefing the media on a matchday about what was going on inside a club, and it was the first time I had seen it and known for it to happen – it really unnerved me. "That is happening at Manchester United now – they are at it, the PR teams, the agents and the marketing teams, as a self-preservation for their own player.”

We know who the club rat boy is - But who could the manc mole be?

Putins man boobs haha

Who would have thought 2 likeable fellows like Lampard and Cashley Hole would resort to such disgusting selfish behaviour just for being left out the starting 11?  If Everton went down with those 2 in charge I think I’d be wanking for days.

Fifteen years ago Ken Bates and Dennis Wise had the relegation-bound Leeds fans angrily singing "the Chelsea boys are taking us down".

I wouldn't mind hearing that again.

I've seen this stat going around for a while now, how are we in comparison to net profit?

I understand we had a lot of legacy/wages/infrastructure to pay for since FSG have been slowing trying to balance the books(Swiss Ramble.) The reason I ask all this is we always hear that they have too much money to fail. With the likes of Man City, Chelsea and now Newcastle adding to the sports washing; along with questions marks over whether Klopp will extend his contract again.

Will this increase in revenue keep us competitive and less reliable on a once in a generation talent like Klopp?

We only caught up so much as they missed out on champions league football on the last reported accounts.

The next set of accounts will have them back closer to £100m ahead of us as they will have champions league money included in it.
