I watched Ronaldo's interview with Sky the other day, and he's just so full of himself. Zlatan did it with a sense of humour, but Ronaldo does it unironically. He didn't sing a song when he arrived at the first team meeting - which is the usual custom apparently; he instead elected to give a speech about how brilliant he is and how he will win them titles.

You can already see that Maguire and Shaw hate him - Maguire especially because he undermines his captaincy at every turn. He undermines Ole as well, with his reactions to defeats.  He also sends the message that everyone at the club, except him, is fucking shit. That's not going to create a healthy dynamic amongst your teammates.

Interestingly, Bonucci came out after he left Juventus and said he was never accepted in the dressing room. He made the team worse when he played because they were more porous defensively and less compact. Juventus were made up to get rid of him. He made them significantly worse, and he's doing the same thing with United.

Its absolutely brilliant to watch.

Remember the fawning and crowing when they signed him?

He is very much like boris johnson where he is comically out of depth and lurches from 1 disaster to another.

Long may it continue.

Kelly exposing Neville for the colossal bluffer he is. It's like she knows what she is talking about or something.

It's great! What a time to be alive!

There's loyalty, Gary, and there's delusion. Fair play for the loyalty to his mate, but what's the excuse for the delusion?

He mentioned finishing 2nd last season, as if it's a possibility it may happen again, but last season was a massive outlier that's not likely, if ever, to be repeated. No crowds made a huge difference, as did having refs award them penalties for fun. Now full crowds are back and the number of pens they've been given has drastically reduced to one so far, and they've even missed that, to great hilarity.

However, having Neville still batting staunchly at the crease in defence of his mate is influential, even if his defence is looking increasingly like a nervous tail-ender waiting for the inevitable and impending killer delivery.

How can have any credibility as a pundit if he wont criticise a manager, because they are mates?

Done decent bashing on the BBC…

I particularly liked the line…

”Bruno Fernandes looked exhausted by the final whistle but this was more likely the result of his constant complaining to team-mates and the officials than any actual footballing impact on this game.”

Not our day today, but we go again after the international break! Expecting us to beat City at home is not a realistic expectation, this is not the medieval times.

City were poor. We gifted them two goals

The coaching staff are very good, brilliant. Big games coming up, so no time to sulk, no time to feel sorry for yourself. We have to come together. Time to get over it as quick as we can. Individual mistakes cost us today, a bit unlucky with two goals conceded, game could've gone either way. Lads know they were not good enough and this is not good enough. We are so close and we can't give up now.

Good to see Fernandes being finally called out. In most of the Utd games I’ve seen coasting doesn’t seem to do him justice.

I wonder if his opinion has changed at all now. They beat Fiorentina 1-0 yesterday to leave the table looking like this.

The most appeasing Neville since Chamberlain.

Let's hope and pray the replacement is someone equally shit and played plenty of matches with Neville. Even Roy Keane won't touch him, just slaughters the players, despite OGS spending hundreds of millions, so it's tough not to call it his team.

Without any humour, he would be fucking miles better than OGS.

Hope they miss out on the Champions League and Chiesa decides he fancies a gaff in The Albert Dock. I watched a bit of their game last night, he's superb. That Morata is a joke.

They're already 13 points behind Napoli and Milan who have a game in hand over them as well.

The Milan derby looks tasty tonight but I won’t be home in time.

Napoli will win the league. Milan's position is a bit false, they really aren't very good.

Sevilla derby on tonight so I'll be watching that. Find both Milan sides a bit dull anyway, to be honest. Napoli and Atalanta are the sides to watch in Serie A.

Love this. Ronay is an amazing writer.

And these bits are especially good.

De Gea could be seen attacking the tunnel as he walked off at the break. It felt a little jarring. Really? Now we’re punching the wall?

“Lads, it’s not Tottenham.”
