Eventually the general populace will stumble upon the realisation that Ronaldo is a far bigger problem than Solskjaer. 4th game in 12 days today for the 37 year old focal point - 4 in a row since his fit at being left on the bench against Everton (a game they led until he came on). Material suicide bringing a player like that into a fixture against City. He cannot press, he cannot hold the ball up - he exposes their most vital weaknesses. Whoever comes in next will have a beautiful time appeasing a nearly-middle aged man who expects to be front and centre week in week out. Laughably the fans bayed for this. For context, it would be like Rafa building the side around Fowler when he returned in 2006 - except Fowler was already reduced to bit part player at the ripe old age of 30. Until then, Viva Ronaldo, the wonderful player-coach of Manchester United.

If he was city's 9 he'd still score 30+. Instead he's reduced to trying to do other players jobs as well as his own because he's surrounded by crap.

2nd in the league last season; UEFA Cup finalists last season. 7 points from 9 before he started this season (2 away fixtures). Sancho & Varane also added to the squad.

I'm on about C Ronaldo. I'm not denying they're shite right now. He's the problem because they're relying on him too much. That side isn't right for a player like him. City, even us would be.

Single player reliance is not the problem. Look at how heavily weighted Fernandes' contributions were last season (and start of this season - 4 goals in his first 3). Also look at Fernandes' immaterial contributions since Ronaldo joined (1 goal & 3 assists in 8). They are not relying on Ronaldo -- Ronaldo has completely destroyed the shape the team was fastened to in open play, and happens to score a goal every now and then in passing because he is still a good finisher in a passage of play 12 - 18 yards from goal. Look at City's first goal today & Jesus' close miss thereafter - you will hear Neville bemoan Wan Bissaka & Bruno's defending, not realising that both are needing to move forward towards the City player because Ronaldo cannot press his man, and City then pass through them. He is the crucial problem compared to last season, not a change in approach from Solskjaer. They were not a 'great' team last season, but they did know how to defend and could be a handful with break on the pace. They have none of that now - they've laughably replaced a strike force of early 20s speed merchants with a Cavani-Ronaldo twosome, who expose the midfield which was always the weakest part of the team but could get by with forwards who pressed.

Read my reply back, you'll see I was agreeing with you.

Kelly exposing Neville for the colossal bluffer he is. It's like she knows what she is talking about or something.

He's making an absolute cock of himself all because he doesn't want to criticise his mate.

It's great! What a time to be alive!

I watched Ronaldo's interview with Sky the other day, and he's just so full of himself. Zlatan did it with a sense of humour, but Ronaldo does it unironically. He didn't sing a song when he arrived at the first team meeting - which is the usual custom apparently; he instead elected to give a speech about how brilliant he is and how he will win them titles.

You can already see that Maguire and Shaw hate him - Maguire especially because he undermines his captaincy at every turn. He undermines Ole as well, with his reactions to defeats.  He also sends the message that everyone at the club, except him, is fucking shit. That's not going to create a healthy dynamic amongst your teammates.

Interestingly, Bonucci came out after he left Juventus and said he was never accepted in the dressing room. He made the team worse when he played because they were more porous defensively and less compact. Juventus were made up to get rid of him. He made them significantly worse, and he's doing the same thing with United.

What makes it extra delicious is Ferguson being heard saying “you don’t leave out your best player” after the Everton game.

Which means Ole will proceed to play Ronaldo every single second of every match.
